12 goals in 61 games ain't inspiring. He was only 28 when he went Atletico too so can't say it's down to age. We need Haaland.

Plays in a very defensive team, they just made a midfielder a striker ffs lol. Haaland isn't happening but thats beside the point, we need someone now.

Why are we always the team that loses academy players who are unable to break into the first team. Why spend all this money on an academy that we dont utilize for the first team!

Delap should be the priority now. He will be 18 next season and should be with the first team. So should Palmer, Doyle and others. But speaking of strikers, Delap should be promoted

amateurish thinking my friend.. the real deal here for something short-term would have been Balotelli on a free (although he's gone into the Italian second division) which would have made things madder than a box of frogs, ehehe - but I doubt you'd ever get to see Pep managing Mario, and all the extra entertainment that would entail, sadly.

although I'm concerned about what's going on with Aguero's knee, I have confidence City are busy looking into all the possibilities (not sure if we get someone in as early as next month) and we'll be recruiting in due course.. place your bets!

As much as we’ve ridiculed the rags for some of their short term signing upfront they’ve had a few that have worked out

Ibrahimovic will have been on stupid money but still banged them in, ighalo to be fair has popped up with goals and Cavani has scored important goals while also giving them a presence for defenders to think about.

I can see why we’d want to wait until the summer for our first choice centre forward but there have to be short term options out there because if Aguero continues to struggle for fitness we are in the shit big time.

I completely agree. Plus, imagine if you were Rashford/Greenwood learning from Ibrahimovic and Cavani in training. I do think Aguero probably suffers as we're expecting him to press, score goals and maintain fitness which he plainly can't do. We need to keep him fit for the big games, not chasing chickens at Brighton and WBA etc.

It's not as if we have much option - we know Aguero is going to spend quite a bit of time injured this season. Jesus won't ever score as many as Aguero, although I do like him as a player.

I've said before, we just need someone with experience who we can put on to score goals. We don't need 11 players pressing WBA, 10 is enough with an older player who's able to see the space and nip in.

I'm not sure about his contract, but Giroud would be someone I'd take a punt on. He gives us an aerial threat, scores a few and won't cost much. I do think having an aerial threat would give us so much more - imagine KdB being able to cross to a big target man! Jovic sounds ideal on loan too. Diego Costa would be interesting as I think he's a beast and would give us something "tasty" up front. I wonder if Marko Arnautovic would fancy a few months back in the PL? Looked a very good player back in the day. I've often wondered how someone like Andy Carroll would do for us as he would be a "Plan C" player but he will get on the end of KdB's crosses. I'm not suggesting he's in the same bracket as the others, but when WBA take the piss and put 11 giant players in the 6 yard box, this guy can win knock downs.

At the end of the day, we NEED a striker. Haaland etc isn't going to come in January so we need to look at older, short term options or loans. Giroud etc would do a job for us and take some pressure off Aguero.

You see, that is what I meant. There was no plan to prepare a young striker and promote him to the first team. Instead we are always looking to buy.

If there was a plan put in place 5 years ago then we would have had an academy player in the first team as a striker. I just feel that we have a state of the art academy that is not being used to feed the first team.

Braaf looks like he is leaving as well and Delap would eventually leave if we don't promote him

Prepare how? if there wasn't one good enough. Delap may or may not be good enough I don't know but even if he is he is nowhwre near ready from the bits I read. Braaf doesn't seem to have the temprement to make it with us. Others like Doyle and Plamer might well, which is probably why they seem to be getting opportunities Braaf doesn't.
