Havent read the article so dont know how well researched it was.
Not sure why we are the headline when I can remember both Coventry and Birmingham as top division teams exiting to non league teams.
In 2005 a certain team scraped a draw at home to non league Exeter before losing at home to League 1 Leeds in 2010. Surely they would be more accuately described as upsets.
Seriously? The Fail?

In any event, in the book that made his name Shindler showed a willingness to compromise in terms of the theme to ensure his narrative met the demands of a media in thrall to United. @Gary James has posted on here before that, back in the mid-1990s, he was looking for a publisher for what was effectively a proposed City version of Fever Pitch, and received an offer conditional on him focusing the text on the hapless Blues forever flailing in the shadow of their mighty red neighbours. He refused but Shindler didn't, the resulting book being published the following year.
This is absolutely true. Within a year of my meeting with the publisher, it was announced that Shindler’s Book was being published by the same publisher. I’d been told ‘put Manchester Utd in the title and make the book about City always being upstaged and we’ll publish’. I could’ve made a fortune out of that book but I deal in facts and want to tell the truth, not someone else’s view of my club.

Imagine listing a City away draw, in the season we actually won the cup, as one of the “most embarrassing FA Cup scrapes”.

So the eventual FA Cup winners scraped a draw at Notts County early on in the competition. Well, boofuckinghoo.

In the space of a few years in the noughties the rags were drawn against 3 non league clubs. They needed replays after drawing with Exeter at home and Burton away but they did manage to thrash Crawley 1-0 at home in the 5th round.

Makes it all the the more enjoyable now.

Well I suppose at least they didn't disrespect Burton.

Sorry Ric out if curiousity what is your issue with this headline/article?

I cannot see anything wrong with it to be honest.

Strange thing is there's a few in the past Shrewsbury, Halifax etc but these young pimple popper no marks weren't born then and it's too much effort to put out a decent article.

To be honest I think people are either purposely finding a reason to dislike the article or people are missing the point based as it could be argued Ric’s comment is a little misleading.

The Daily Mail has interviewed their Sportsmail experts (Micah Richards is one) to discuss their most embarrassing cup moments. The article is not saying these are the most embarrassing cup moments of all time. For example Martin Keowns game was a match his team actually won 3-2 but were trailing at half-time. It is personal memories of the Sportsmail experts.
