Sly sports pretend to write a positive article about Ruben Dias, but just quote Peps thoughts on the player.
Their contribution is his transfer fee which is highlighted and underlined, then further down it states "Ruben Dias is City's latest big money acquisition".
Think they are wounded deep down the wankers

Snide - derogatory or mocking indirectly.

That is a shame. No issues with targeting the likes of Delaney/Harris with ire, but Sam Lee is not out to get us.
dias has unquestionable been the best CB in the prem this year, he has turned our team into a rock solid united, if a cb from say our rivals had had the same effect would they of got a b+,i agree with your thoughts on the " conspiracy" 99% of the time, but this is a little snide, and as the city correspondent to a pay per view newspaper he is in danger of alienating the fans he is supposed to be informing, all for the extra clicks of other fans, i can see why people get pissed off.

It’s like they’ve not watched our team before Dias came and after.

I let my subscription lapse with the Athletic in December. The majority of the written articles are puff pieces in the PL. Sam Lee has definitely lost his edge there too. He used to get exclusive stuff before but now anything worthwhile reading on City is from their A list writers... which is quarterly, and with CAS where it had a bit of Sam proved to be poorly researched and sourced.

FWIW, Dias has been an A+ for impact on our team. Impact on the team signed for with any signing is about the best metric you can use because that’s why any club signs a player... to make an impact in their team. In our team we had the key stone cops running around in our back line before Dias rocked up. Now we look like Fort Knox. Dias thus far has been A+.
Dias has had the biggest impact of any defensive player I have seen in 50 years. He transformed the City team from his first match. Much more impact than Vinny in his first six months. Dias was captain of Benfica at 21 and is one of the most influential players in Portugal's brilliant team.

I don't want to target people in general because frankly it's tiring. I just want Manchester City football club to be praised when it gets things right.

History is dictated by the winners. And over the last decade Manchester City are the winners. I want us to be treated with the respect that we deserve but ultimately football is so tribalistic that everyone pusbes their own agendas. Tom Worville wrote some shits tweets about us but his recent articles shows he's biased. I don't like United - but if I had to write articles on them I'd be very fair and considered and also wouldn't write tweets pisstaking when employed by a website that relies on supporters subscribing.

No arguments, I think he has been fantastic and in fairness Sam Lee in his messages said he would ‘have been more effusive’, so not sure why Sam Lee is getting digs, which was my point, although a bit clumsily written, particularly as, although I dont agree with everything he writes, I think he is fair on the whole.
