For saying Fish are happier because they are now British. For making lame jokes about a serious issue.

Rees-Mogg appeals to those who are challenged by their class - professional forelock tuggers who see a Lord Snooty impersonator and think coz he " talks posh" he is super intelligent - there are some Brexit Ultra's who will tell you he should replace Johnson as PM ffs.

If he had a Yorkshire accent and wore a suit from M&S he would have got nowhere

Presumably he meant that Rees-Mogg knew how destructive Brexit will be, but pushed for it for his own personal gain regardless. Or something.
Well then you’d have to show evidence of his own personal gain. This has been accused before but was ultimately shown as false, regarding Somerset Asset Management.

People said he wanted a no deal that would crash the economy and yet he’s been a champion of getting the deal we’ve got.

Maybe he’s just an upper class Tory who dreams of historical Blighty, and that’s why he supported to leave, rather than some sinister economical scam?

Maybe. Either way, I strongly doubt he has the interests of the majority of the British public at heart.

Or maybe he just feels the best interests of the country are gained through a different medium than you do?

This is the thing, I don’t agree with Rees-Mogg on economics, nor do I agree with Corbyn... but both genuinely think their position is helpful to the majority.

Ha, I’m extremely sceptical about that claim, but am off to bed so will have to pick this up tomorrow.

disingenuous **** called out by someone's lived experience not soft soaped by abstract words from a man who is cosplaying the role of a Victorian smarty pants who hasn't got his nanny handy to hide behind

Rees-Mogg is intelligent, the way Johnson is intelligent, sound posh, chuck in a bit of Latin and two thirds of the country start tugging their forelock‘s and touching themselves inappropriately.

For the English, a posh bloke is a sexual fetish.
You can be ‘intelligent’ and a gobshite at the same time. The two are not mutually exclusive.

I know some Mensa intelligencee that haven’t an ounce of cop on.
Lovely people, unlike Rees Mogg, but you’d buy and sell them.

Haven’t you got your own politicians to be bothered about?

From after the referendum research, Ashcroft reckoned 58% of Conservative voters voted Leave and 63% of Labour voters voted Remain. Other pollsters came up with similar results.
That is anecdote, i asked for evidence
