Angelino

As far as I am concerned, Zinchenko is our number 1 full back. Simply because he is technically the best, can move in the midfield position Pep is asking from his RB and LB, and -main factor- he makes the players around him better.
Is he a great defender? No. Nor is Mendy or Angelino. Ake and Laporte are, but they can’t get near the attacking capacity Zinchenko has. And that simply fits our team and the way they play.

nothing to do with what he wrote but was classified as the only world class player in his position (right- and leftback(yeah yeah hes a wingback)) in the bundesliga by kicker today.

I have no idea what that means. He can’t be referring to us surely?
I'd say its a real possibility. He can't be content with the way we have handled him, especially given his now excellent stock/reputation.
I suspect he wants his future sorting out soonest, and why not in this window?

Leipzig have an obligation to buy him in the summer. Why would he suddenly be mad at us? Leipzig haven’t been doing too well in the league lately, maybe there’s something going on over there?

True,i guess that's equally possible. If so,we might be able to cancel the transfer and obtain a better fee.

I’m one of the few who would love to see him back playing for us. The obligation to buy only takes effect when he has got 5 appearances in the second half of the season, which he hasn’t yet. Many people say he wouldn’t fit here because he plays LWB for them, but that’s what he would do 90% of the time here. For the other 10% we could still use Zinchenko, Cancelo, Ake and Laporte. I’m not gonna argue that he’s a great defender, but we managed to get 198 points from Delph/Zinchenko at LB who’s not very good defensively either. The key is a great CB pairing which we have now, but didn’t have last season when he played for us once every 3/4 weeks. He’s not horrible in defense either, he has played in 4atb formations for Leipzig and done well. Angelino would be great if given a proper run of games here in the current side

Just get him back ffs.

Pep needs to give him a fair chance. Benching him all season then dropping him in cold vs Salah last year was a dick move and a clear sign Pep wanted him gone.

Imagine a back 3 of Laporte, Dias and Stones with Angelino at LWB?

We’d be unstoppable.

I agree,he'd compliment the attacking instincts and technical ability of Cancelo on the right. Our possession based football would mean his overly criticised defensive frailties wouldn't be too much of an issue.
We'd just need a focal point to take advantage of his pinpoint crossing.

I may be wrong, but really think that he just isn't big enough of a fullback, even wingback and people under estimate how Pep sees them defensively. Even if our fullback attack like a wingback ala Mendy, he still needs to defend like a LB. No matter how we line up in attack, when we defend it's a 4-4-2.
Most PL teams will attack with high crosses at the far post. If we lose the ball on one side of the pitch and the opposition counters, a high cross would usually mean a ball at the far post over the CB's. The fullbacks have to try and deal with the aerial threat. All the fullbacks we have used have all had some height bar Zinchenko, but he's at least taller than Angelino. In the Amazon doc they talked about us wanting big fullbacks when we bought Mendy, Walker and Danilo. Pep never went for someone like Gaya at Valencia for example when he easily could have.

Isn't he on loan with an obligation to buy? - i.e. effectively he is not our player.
It takes effect when he has played 5 games in the second half of the season, which he hasn’t yet. Hypothetically I think they could cancel his loan if he wanted to
