Political relations between UK-EU

You must have really lost your shit with the EU when they signed off the deal with Mercosur. That 100,000 tonnes of chicken and 99,000 tonnes of beef they want every year means a lot of the Amazon destroyed just to feed the EU.
It's not like brexiters to completely miss the point and get raging brex-ons about something someone didn't say.... My point was at the moment where we should be looking to start looking closer to home in terms of imports, you lot think it's wonderful that we're putting trade agreements in place with the other side of the world, whilst telling our neighbours to do one. It's not very clever, bit like brexit.

No, we got your point.

The hypocrisy stems from you criticising the UK for doing this, but having never criticise the EU for doing the exact same thing. Trading and transporting goods with the opposite side of the world along with its neighbours.

Why is it okay when the EU does it and killing the planet when the UK does? That was the question posed and you avoided it.

Another one who doesn’t know the difference between a FTA and joining a regional trade bloc.

Ursula Fonda Lyin' now says Britain failed its 'gigantic responsibility' to ensure the safety of vaccines.

keep digging.

She's choosing the "go down fighting" approach, then. Probably get a job writing for the New European next.

I'm criticising the UK for prioritising long distance trade, something the EU isn't doing due to the massive single market they have. All countries need to start doing this, not just us, not just the EU.

So why sign new trade deals with Canada and Japan? EU wants to expand, just as we do. But its okay for them, not for us? Again, if being angry at the disregard for climate change is a point, and it is a valid one, then surely it needed to be addressed earlier when the EU signed new FTA's with nations it really didn't need to, owing to their large market.

yeah, the UK doesn't have any vaccines.

AstraZeneca is a listed compay whose largest owners are US wealth funds. Astra was founded in the UK, Zeneca was founded in Sweden. They merged. At no point did AZ come under ownership of the UK Govt.

What seems to be missing from the reporting in the UK papers is the outcome of the disput i.e. the UK contract will be supplied from all European production and the EU contract will be supplied from all European production.

Oh my voice was drowned quite early out by the shouts of the Remain FBPE lobbies who said EFTA was 'no compromise at all', but I was always bringing it up; even got called out for bringing it up too many times. I realised a lost cause when I saw one and just let you all go at it, but apparently expressing myself through gifs at the banality of the discussions being had just annoyed you all even more. :)

None of you wanted to listen, you wanted to go loggerheads against "hard brexiteers" for "ruining the country", getting hard PP when it looked like brexit was going to be overturned, all the while I was waiting for the mood from remainers to turn towards EFTA so I could express my advocation. Didn't transpire, too many lunatics.
Gave it up when it was a lost cause.... Yet banging on about it now!

I can't recall why EFTA/EEA didn't fly in Parliament, but we were three votes from a majority for staying in a customs union - blame Labour rebels and the LibDems.

I think you underplay it’s significance to the economy, it’s definitely not a negative as some are making out and will go some way to boosting jobs and industry
It's like losing a tenner and finding a tanner. Good news but small compensation.

In 2016 the UK voted to Leave the EU - the Remain campaign was clear that included the SM and CU - I don't think even any on here would deny that is the truth
The government said it included leaving the SM and CU. The Leave campaigns were desperate to say it didn't mean that.
