As you can see the cases are falling but week to week finding it harder to fall dropping week to week by 815 then 354 then 367 then 59.

But at least it is down and Tuesday is always a weekend catch up day.

Not heard a thing. Seeing as they have just added another 1.7 million to the shielding list, I would be doubtful about going back Monday.

Might look those books up, that's exactly how it works. I belong to an astronomy club and one of the members got invoved with videoing simple experiments to prove a flat earther wrong online. They kept coming back with more arguments. I've not been to the club for I year now but would bet he's still on that hamster wheel we we get back to meetings.

I have experienced the same thing with a climate change denier.

As it happens, I have met both authors. Stephen Law is a good laugh and his book isn’t a dry piece of writing - it’s actually quite entertaining.

Will Storr is a good guy too. Found out that he lived locally near a school I used to teach at, so I got him in to talk to one of my sixth-form classes.

In the earlier book of his that I read, the style reminded me a bit of Jon Ronson.

I’ve posted about this idiot before but a friend of my wife’s is a community nurse visiting her patients at home or in care homes. She has refused her offered vaccination as in her mid 50s she has become a fanatical vegan so she won’t have it because it has been tested on animals. All the medication she dishes out has been tested on animals FFS.

She has been ranting on to my wife and other friends about her ‘human rights’ as now she has been told she can’t visit patients unless she has it. She is a fucking selfish nutter and if she won’t have it then she’ll have to find another job. Fuck her.

P45 should be through her letterbox ASAP. And for many on here that is not a euphemism :-)

nope, yours is rubbish. There's a choice with multiple vaccines available and people should get their preference if they have one. It's their body and their future.

Have the NHS written to you or your wife before to ask you or her to shield? I thought that everyone in that group had been offered the vaccine now?

No will be next month before we see a big impact from the first round of vaccines, though care homes seem to be showing signs and over 80s a smaller sign.

there are a lot of interesting podcasts out there about why BAME uptake is low, to simply blame those people is way too simplistic, i think you should broaden your knowledge in that area. It basically boils down to mistrust of governance from years of unethical healthcare research and the perception of systemic racism

please dont heap blame on these communities, this is exactly the last thing that is needed

Being offered free healthcare that will protect them, their loved ones and the wider (global) society. And not taking up that offer because of perceived racism. Idiots.

Just back from having my jab (AZ). As everyone else has said, such a professionally run operation.

Yes they have. Last year, and I was off from March to end of June and now from November 12th and am still currently off. Told my firm that I was having time off regardless if I got paid or not. Spoke to our gp and we are both red flagged as her being extremely vunerable and me being her main carer
