Thanks, I think the "10 day" thing should be carefully used, and mostly only apply to asymptomatic people.
According to the PHE reports in tge weeks leading up to Chriatmas, schools were responsible for 35% of new cases - followed on by 15% catching it from the kids at home and taking it to work and spreading it to another 15%.Awful deaths figure, but continued consistent drop in cases very heartening. Positivity looks good too.
Drop in cases has been far faster than many feared with the new variant. Suggests perhaps
(1) Schools effect was larger than expected or
(2) Transmission advantage of new variant not as bad as feared, and previous rise only partially caused by it, maybe more by xmas socialising. (massive Ireland Christmas spike would be consistent with that).
Just speculating.
Very hopeful that deaths will peak within the week, and near certain that need occupancy will.

My sons friend who is in his early 40’s got a letter inviting him to be vaccinated, he thought it was a mistake so got in touch with the clinic in Hale Barns. They said they had done everybody on their books from the older age groups so he is booked in to have his jab today. Meanwhile I am down in Timperley and am 75 next birthday, not heard anything yet. If I hear nothing this week my MP Graham Brady is getting an email from me asking what the hell is going on.
Tbe media repeatedly points out that there is a lag on hospital admissions and deaths , i dont know what you want them to do , attacking them is a distractionDon’t think that’s right I would say the vast majority of people only watch the news or see the media once a day if that, they won’t watch the press conferences , and most will be under the impression the daily figure is the figure for one day. They won’t see the pattern and won’t appreciate that restriction today save lives in a month not tomorrow or this week even.

Pretty sure my employer would tell me to f**k off, if they knew I'd had it, and was still coughing thankfully.Actually just checked the text message I got from NHS and here's the paragraph verbatim:
"You can return to work the day after you finish self isolating if you've not had a high temperature in 48 hours, even if you still have a cough. Contact your employer first."
So my apologies, even the cough seems ok technically, although I don't know how comfortable I'd feel going out and about coughing everywhere and anywhere.
