Great ref tonight, fair and didn’t want to be the centre of attention

Said it in the match day thread. He was consistent, impartial, let the game flow and didn't blow for the slightest contact, unlike the fucking dogshit refs in the Premier League.

He got all the big decisions right but I thought he gave them just about every 50/50 decision and didn’t give us about 4 or 5 glaringly obvious free kicks

Can't argue, but I'm sure somebody will complain at us having Rubens uncle as our referee.

I'd just question his timekeeping. 3 mins injury time and about 30 secs actually ball in play time.

Didn't matter as the game was won but was no help to me needing another City goal for a bet.

Just watched Mason ref the WBA v Brighton game totally lose his bottle. He's pouring in sweat, visibly overweight, awkward running style and cant sprint. No wonder he makes bad decisions when he cant think clearly due to being so unfit. Surely he cant last much longer ?

Quiet game from Olly, not much he could have an impact on bar the odd soft freekick, was like a pre-season game for long spells.

Yeah it was a tough one for him today. Never really got a chance to influence the result. Broke the play up for them in the middle sometimes. Soft free kicks as you say. Now Mason would've just kept blowing his whistle until the ball ended up in the right part of the goal.

Lee Mason, what a shambles. Seems to make a very poor decision every three or four games and clearly not fit enough to keep up with play. Shouldnt be a professional referee imo.
