Very similar to ours before the takeover if we are honest. And when they were the best team in England they had a City-like tendency to blow the big occasions - like European cup finals-so they should have won more. Add to that their fall and rise through the divisions and hatred of Man United and I feel that they are a similar club.

Id rather they were challenging for honours than Liverpool and United, put it that way. And yes, maybe I’m biased because I have always had Leeds supporting mates.

I'm no lonver of Leeds a couple of a couple of very scary trips to Elland Road in the seventies made sure of that. I realise however their is greater potential there than at possibly any other club in the country. I also feel that their great side of the late sixties and early seventies neither got the recognition or the trophies they deserved. In 1970 their seemed to be a determination from the football establishment to see they finished pot less. The press weren't interested in Leeds or City but only in rags, dippers , Chelsea and Arsenal. Feel historically they have been treated very like City. Will always respect Howard Wilkinson's side for denying the GPC and his scum side the title.

You know what would be good for the competition in the PL? If Leicester’s, Villa’s, Wolves’ or Fulham’s owners could invest in their clubs, but I seem to remember some bizarre rules against that.

Always said that if they don't change they will look like twats, you can't watch the standards we are setting and say anything other than brilliant.
I have friends who follow rags and dippers who have no shame in admitting that we are unplayable at the moment.
It's the ex players who get paid to say/write stupid things that come over as spiteful that eventually end up looking absolutely stupid.

I know, that’s one of the things I was thinking but what struck me as well was the three tonight weren’t the ‘old guard’ i.e. Shearer, Lineker, Wright, Keown, Laurenson, but two of the ‘younger ones. Alex Scott and Steve someone. Plus the presenter was Gaby Logan!
So as well as admitting that we are brilliant maybe they are not toeing the ‘party’ line but going their own way.
There is so much competition to get the good pundits now that they may be able to air their own views!

I like Leeds and want them to do well. In terms of their club size/profile/history they are very close to City. I’m perhaps biased because I have Leeds supporting mates including one who works at the club but I’d be delighted to have them as serious rivals in the future.

Totally agree with this. I used to work in W Yorks and had some great friends who were Leeds fans. This was when we were at our lowest ebb, mid to late 90s, and whilst the piss taking was remorseless, it was good natured and never smug.

They were absolutely bat shit crazy about Leeds, I mean crazy about them and they taught this old fool a thing or two about hating Manchester United. The hatred is visceral.

They are a proper club, passionate fans, although in my experience total lunatics, night matches at Elland Road were the equivalent of seeing battle action in the army.
