United (H) Post Match Thread

We never laid a glove on them. Poor throughout. Too many starting to believe their own hype. United got the head start they needed and it killed our team psychologically. Couple that with generally poor aimless play and we got what our performance deserved, nothing.

I'm not mentioning any particular player, but some seriously under par efforts from too many. We just always manage to make a mess of this fixture.

When will Jesus, Mahrez and Sterling turn up for a big game?
Kev had a mare and Gundogan was running on empty.
Subs should have been made on 50 mins.

You've hit the nail on the head. Every single City game we all can tell what way it's going to go by the first 5-10 minutes and it stays like that for the 90 minutes.
First time we've gone behind in a game in the league since Tottenham and yet again still never looked like turning it around.
Very concerning for the CL.

Our mentality when we go behind is very questionable and our qualities aren’t really suited to chasing the game.

Take one example (and I can choose many): Rodri; he is the perfect player for us when we’re winning and want to slow the game down and keep the ball ticking over; but Rodri is the sort of player who is fucking hopeless for us when we’re chasing a game.

Hitting teams on the break: only Foden and Agüero have a counter attack in them. All the rest of our attackers want to slow down and turn inside to get some inane passing going like we’re 4-0 up, when we’re trying to chase a game.

We will have to score first in the CL to have any chance of winning. We will not come from behind to win it.

Slagging off KDB is nobbish, he is one of the best players in the world and needs game time, these are the players that win trophies. We lost today because a striker made an utter nobbish tackle and a striker missed a sitter.

‘However Foden and Silva have to start
Slagging HIM off is nobbish. Slagging off his performance on this day in this match isn’t. He had an awful day. Hopefully it just infuriates him and motivates him to play better next time out. He’s quite obviously brilliant.

Seeing Sterling miss two great chances an half fit Sergio buries both, to not bring him on for the last Ten minutes when the hell will he get the chance to get match fit

Never does us any harm though.
Top.

Frustrating, we should be 17 infront of these and over the hull but we’ve now got to be slightly careful we don’t do something stupid.

People are emotional.. but Souness just nailed it.. City played how they will always play and should not change as they will win almost all games playing that way as it took utd to be almost perfect to win. But City won’t care as they will win over the course of 9 months.

We need to keep it in perspective. One game that we lost. So what.. we move on.
not the first time, either. Last season they beat us three times out of four, but we still finished above them AND won the only game that mattered, on our way to a cup. This season, they've taken 4 points off us, but let's face it: we'll beat them to the league AND once again we beat them when it mattered in the semi final.

They've won a lot of battles over the last couple of years. But we keep winning the war, and that's fine with me.

No he’s not but equally some of the comments on here are utter shite, he has to play we need him back to his best and too do that he must have game time
Sure but if hes not performing and others are, they should start

On Pep that.....another of his infrequent but famous brain farts.

The team selection was wrong from the start, and im not convinced he understands what the Derby means.....you play your best players in your best 11.

Anyway.....on a positive, hopefully its treated as a wake up call for the CL.
I can’t be bothered reading the rest of this thread as this first post sums it up. Completely on the starting 11, picked by the manager. Why do we see this so often in games that matter? Ridiculous line ups in big European games or against that lot. He doesn’t understand this game at all. I and most blues of my vintage hate losing to them, he needs to respect that. All this bollocks about a rivalry with Liverpool is simply that. Fuming with that half arsed performance.
Jesus isn’t good enough either, just not the required quality.
