Yeah, these stories that people come out with have a huge whiff of bullshit as they always seem to be from anti-vaxxers. And I say that as someone who had a close relative suffer permanent mental and physical disability from a vaccine back in the 60s.How come it's always anti-vaxxers that know bad stories like this and never anyone who isn't anti-vax? But they are speeding this up everywhere. The vaccination programme has been superbly organised. A big advantage created by our National Health System and a reminder of how lucky we are and foresighted to have created that after the war. We should never take it for granted when you see how many less joined up nations driven by private healthy care in multiple forms are doing trying to organise with no such cohesion.
Oh and my niece who is at uni and just 22 has her jab this week too. She was as surprised as you. But this is going to be more and more common as we accelerate round the last bend.

I suffer from all sorts of allergies, I already have a compromised immune system from having Glandular Fever, as well as a couple of patches of Psoriasis.
I have legitimate concerns the vaccination might kill me.
This is why i am waiting out for a while yet.
Not because i am being a selfish fucker .I am waiting it out to see how people with my sort of conditions do over the next few months.

Any of our scientists here able to comment on how concerned we should be that some Euro nations have again stopped use of the AZ/Oxford vaccine after claims one batch (not apparently used in the UK) has been associated with several reported blood clots?
There do not seem to be any reports from the UK where you would assume this would be apparent if a factor of the vaccine given we surely have vaccinated more with it here than any other country? And started earlier.
It is likely just precautionary based on a handful of cases. But AZ does not need more bad publicity if it has substance even in a single batch.

I watched a report on France24 the other week, couldn't believe how it is being rolled out in some places there, the GP gets a call from the local Chemist Shop to say we have for example 12 shots of the Vaccine for you, he then has to go to the Chemist to pick them up in a cool bag, gets back to his surgery has a look on his PC for the most vulnerable patients and rings them up and asks if they want the Vaccine and if so can they come to the Surgery now, no wonder they are so far behind usAs you should not.
