Thanks for this, just booked my first jab for next Tuesday(i'm 52) at the EtihadHaven’t seen it mentioned, so apologies if it has, but it states now quite clearly that the national booking site is open to people 50+, they’ve officially changed it.

I don't think you read the responses.Him being able to resume some sort of normality in his life but selfish individuals like you want to put a spanner into the works because you know best.
As someone who has been shielding for over a year i'd be ecstatic. Even if i can't go out to think of all those selfless, intelligent people who took the vaccine for not just their benefit but also everyone else's being able to safely enjoy themselves would be a great boost.
It's very good but lacking a little religion.God article on the blood clot issue from an epidemiologist.
Im immune suppressed so my jab may have not worked for me. I truly hope it does. After 2nd dose i will have a antibody test to see. If it works off i go, if not the more people that have the vaccine the better from my point of view. Irrespective of whether it works for me it makes sense that those who freely choose to put both themselves and others at risk by refusing the vaccine should be kept separate from those who are not muppets. This seems crazy to me.
You've been shielding for a year with the promise of what? You'd be happy to carry on shielding for the rest of your life?
Yet again, I will be getting the vaccination and I encourage everyone to do so.Im immune suppressed so my jab may have not worked for me. I truly hope it does. The fact that some people think those who choose to put others at risk when there is a vaccine available, who have no medical grounds to do so should be able to freely go round putting other in possible danger is astonishing. If it was Leprosy or Rabies we wouldn't even be having this conversation. There is no reason, NONE, to not have the vaccine bar medical exemption.
Don't trust the experts, believe conspiracy theories then fuck off i say.
So let me get this straight, you want those who refuse to get a vaccine to a deadly disease to be able to freely mingle with those who have had the vaccine and those who have not yet had the opportunity plus those for whom the vaccine hasn't worked, potentially leading to deaths and severe illness for those people, when there is no reason for them not to have a vaccine that could negate those risks? Astonishingly idiotic.Yet again, I will be getting the vaccination and I encourage everyone to do so.
It seems we will never agree as you are a fan of big government that should be allowed to involve itself in all areas of an individuals life, as evidenced by your advocacy of forced segregation and by extension multi-tiered society.
Nobody has mentioned conspiracy theories so I'm not sure why you brought them up, and I agree with you that there is no good reason to remain unvaccinated.
Again, what concerns me is the kind of precedent that begin forced to prove certain things about you personally in order to engage in normal life may set. Why is that so hard to get? It's not about this example, it's not about covid, it's about what this may allow a government to do in future.
Yes, because that's how society works and is literally the whole point of the vaccination programme. Throw away your smart phone and your pc if you are worried about other things. We are in a pandemic ffs.
Haven’t seen it mentioned, so apologies if it has, but it states now quite clearly that the national booking site is open to people 50+, they’ve officially changed it.
This could be interesting.
Your chatting nonsense because your overriding objective is anti government not the welfare of the population. Those who are at risk are not going to put themselves at risk. If the vaccine doesn't work for them then they (me included) will continue to shield like we have for a year. If some vulnerable don't have the vaccine for bullshit reasons then they have made their own bed. For those who can't have a vaccine there are alternatives that are not too far off by all accounts.Yes, because that's how society works and is literally the whole point of the vaccination programme.
Let's simplify your question.
Do you want the people who cannot have a covid vaccine to be able to mingle with people for whom it hasn't worked?
Do you want the people for whom a vaccine hasn't worked but voluntarily received it to be able to mingle with those who are vaccinated?
Do you want those who are vaccinated to be able to mingle with anyone who isn't in any capacity?
Where would you as an individual draw the lines?
Subsitute covid for any other disease that kills people for which a vaccination is readily available. Flu? Measles? Should we segregate those people too?
Perhaps I'm over-estimating people's abilities to think bigger picture here, but let me repeat exactly what i said in my previous post: It's not about this example, it's not about covid, it's about what this may allow a government to do in future.
I don't think government should exist in anywhere close to the capacity it does anyway, so i'm probably wasting my time on this argument.
It appears I did going off the latest reply youve received from the original poster.I don't think you read the responses.
My comment was a direct response to him saying he would gladly stay at home and not go to public areas if vaccination proof was required to go to them. There is no normality in that.
Also, if you'd kindly explain how I'm selfish, and what spanner I want to put in the works I'd appreciate it, because I'm pretty sure all I've done is express concern at the precedent set by requiring proof of vaccine to effectively go out in public.
I've already stated I'm for the vaccine and will be getting it as soon as I'm able, and encourage everyone to do so.
Once we're 20% above herd iimmunity they can come out they're unlikely to infect others and unlikely to catch it themselves.so if youve been dealt a shit hand in life, and you cant get vaccinated, you should now not go to pubs, events, nice holidays nothing, just simply exist until you expire?
