Can someone explain to me this
I live in Sale (Trafford area) and I'm in my 40s so probably have to wait until may for my 1st jab.
I know 3 people younger than me who also live in Trafford with no health conditions and they have had their 1st jab.
Why is this happening?
Could be a GP working through his lists. I know of a GP in Hale Barns who is jabbing people in their 30’s already.People in their 50’s have had both their jabs in his practice. He is doing nothing wrong, he is being given the vaccine and he is cracking on with it

I'm 45, I don't think I have a condition (although I did have fatty liver a few years back). I got a text yesterday.

It could be a number of things worked in my favour - the fatty liver, I've reported hypertension a few times, take meds, have quite a few other mild ongoing things.

But it could just be that like you say, they have supply and it needs to be used.

It’s sad when we say JUST 33 but I know what you mean mate
Yes. 33 families losing a loved one can never be good news but the downward trend is certainly encouraging especially as the number of cases has now levelled off so it’s a clear sign the vaccine is effective and working as we all hoped it would.

Its impossible and your talking nonsense. I can assure you its because they will have a key word on their records from when they were children. The staff at the health centres are too busy to question the lists they are given.

One of the reasons I don't have vaccine envy. Plus, these things are never going to be perfect for a variety of reasons. I'd rather they vaccinate people quickly rather than spend hours or days going through a database, debating the merits of each case.

My view is that for every vaccination, regardless who gets it, the better. One step closer to the end.

Just had email from daughter's school, shut tomorrow due to a number of positive cases today (lateral flow home testing Sun and Wed). They have hardly been back, mind you watching kids walking back from school and in evenings with no social distancing I am not surprised. I can't see the dates on the roadmap being stuck to.

Yes, as I said earlier in one of the data posts the case numbers going up and down within the margins they are now is of no consequence unless they clearly rise steadily. Why I paid such attention to the Friday 'dip' as I felt it was distrustful data.
Is it perhaps possible that the case data suffers as much from administrative flaws as the death data, which has seen some notoriously inconsistent reporting patterns (Great Yarmouth springs to mind). Nothing to do with backdating of deaths, just admin delays in new reporting systems.

I guess the next week or two will tell us if we've got control over positive cases as well as hospitalisations.

The 8 or so that you have read about, exactly. Do you really think there are not some other variants at the other end of the scale? They don’t get written about as it’s not what people want to read, doom sells when it comes to journalism.
If you mean are there variants with neutral effect yes I have read about them. If by the opposite end of the scale you mean variants that are less serious I don't think they have been identified. Good news sells as well as bad.

Why? This was always unfortunately going to happen in some schools. But as for the roadmap, deaths are well down, hospitalisations are well down and cases have barely gone up in spite of record nos of tests and schools returning two weeks ago.

Plenty of appointments being cancelled or no shows, so Gp’s contact people to come forward as to not waste the vaccine.
Even a slight record of a minor health condition in the past might flag them up as priority eligible.
my bro has epilepsy but it’s very mild and he hasn’t had a fit in about 20 years, he got called randomly to go have his about a month ago, and he’s just turned 40.

end of the day, whatever the age and circumstance, the more people being jabbed the better.

No health issues you don’t know about... a mate of mine had one because of being admitted to hospital once as a teenage with asthma.

plus what jobs do they have?

Yes I totally agree with you but the other most serious issue is the more that get vaccinated means the more at risk none vaccinated people are at risk.
Just seems to be a postcode lottery going on with a lot of this.
I'm happy to wait my turn but a lot of reports here and elsewhere in the country of people beating the system, how I dont know.

Maybe the person making the decisions is a member on here...

No don't think so its probably them and other people playing the system and that's disgraceful.
But you don’t really know do you?
My daughter, 29, has had hers due to her past medical record.
If you asked her she wouldn’t tell you.
It’s none of your business.
