North West to only get 200 K vaccines instead of 300 K per week from next week. BBC News.

Local medics unhappy.

So that less well performing regions can catch up.

What happened to rewarding regions who do what the government ask - as in Merseyside and the testing?

Surely supply should be based on population numbers in groups next on the list not performance related as otherwise why bother trying to do better if you get vaccines taken away for doing so and handed to you if you don't get it right?

Also why are over 70s patients in hospital for other reasons not being vaccinated whilst there? Not even happening in Knowsley it seems where for the past month it has been the most infected borough in the UK so high risk to be hospitalised, Seems an obvious step I presumed was just happening.
Don’t mind this, we need to be unified as a nation and get rid of it as soon as we can, it makes sense to focus on problem areas to save lives.

It’s not so easy for me to say as it could mean delays to my and the Mrs’s family getting it.

I agree. I think the areas need to be in tandem with each other. Otherwise you’ll have areas with vaccinated 50 year olds chomping at the but, whilst other areas haven’t done their 70+.

The prime minister has said he hopes it will be safe to reopen schools in England from 8 March, as he told MPs he intends to set out a plan for easing lockdown in the week beginning 22 February.

Addressing the Commons, Boris Johnson confirmed pupils will not be returning to the classroom after the February half-term.

Agree. Don't think the Government (or I) could bear Laura Kuennsberg endless questions about postcode lotteries.
