This is something we have nothing to worry about. This guy right now can’t make the starting XI of a struggling Benfica team. When he plays, his performances are beyond mediocre and underwhelming. For that price, they will find no team crazy enough to take the gamble. Furthermore, a couple of months ago a Benfica fan sent me an interview by his agent in which he says Nunez has no plans of leaving that club in the next two season — which is the smart move. Maybe an option for the future, certainly not for now.

Yes and Pep said in a presser awhile back that he caught the match between Benfica and Arsenal, another one in which Nunez didn’t even start, but joined the team at the 60 minute mark and was bad yet again. Got to agree, it hasn’t worked and I can’t see how he can measurably improve us with the skills he has on display... the system has evolved, we’ve also lost a key aspect in Sane, which was a perfect foil in how we attacked in Peps first 2/3 years...I‘m sure Mendy is fun and a nice lad but his wages are not matched by his contribution and his Injuries have certainly impacted him. We really need to move him on if we can. Got to hope PSG fancy a high profile left back who can double as a social media analyst.

As for THB, after Pep’s recent comments about his admiration for Farke and Norwich, it would seem on the face of it like the idea loan move for him. Though an on loan teenage centre half could easily be scapegoated and dropped in the heat of a premier league relegation battle. Happened to Denayer at Sunderland.

The proposal Bartomeu had made for Garcia was totally unrealistic (something like VVD wages in his second year) and it explained why he was so eager to go. That they would ask for a wage drop, that was obvious when the presidential candidates didn’t agree to him going in January
