If it wasn't for encryption there's several posters on this site alone who could hack into your messages and steal your personal information without breaking a sweat. If the police want to see Whatsapp messages they can get a warrant from a judge and get them from Whatsapp.
No, I know they do and they do a brilliant job. My moan is 'we' make it so easy for criminals by allowing encryption. I though all these companies had to be licensed, I know it is too easy to say just withdraw the licence but these are young innocent children being abused.
As I understand it they cannot get access to it, even with a warrant. I have read several reported cases where google/wattsapp refused saying they do not have access themselves
