If Chelsea and City said no to this it would really harm it all. What leverage could the other owners even have?

legally no premier league clubs can sign up to a super league when under contract with the premier league
so i don't think anybody has sign up to a super league. maybe a spoke agreement between them but not on paper

also think in the tv rights that are sign up for in block years and i think they are every 4 years. so i think the next rounds are in 2022 and its highly doubtful any teams leaving before 2025 or 2026. also players contracts will have to be rewritten and i think KDB just agreed with a new deal with city until 2025

so many stumbling blocks to just signing a paper and leaving ? this was a smoke screen for the uefa revamped champions league in 2 seasons time. the elite clubs are not happy with the deal on the table and want more money not just more games ?

this is going to happen with the new premier league tv deal ? with covid-19 its understood the next deal will be a lot lower and and clubs are not happy because its a tv deal and nothing to do with fan not being allowed in grounds

next round of tv rights 2022

I’m all for getting rid of the pointless group stages of the CL. I’m all for the best teams in Europe battling it out during the week. What I am not all for, is the predetermination of who those best teams are. You want to play in Europe on a Tuesday and Wednesday and enjoy the riches that come with it? Fine....fucking earn the right to do so, by what you do here and now, in your domestic league and not by what you did 30 years ago.

Notts Forest are probably waiting for their invite.
Nottingham Forest is their correct name
'Notts' refers to Notts County.
This matters in Nottingham.

Not having that, whether we were part of the conception or simply signed on last minute matters little. it was our decision, theres no being backed into it here, they could have said no as the German and French clubs have done.

why would man city be backed into a corner ? we fucking run the premier league in the last 10 years

What does that even mean? It wouldn’t take a genius to work out what the reaction to this news was going to be. It would have been so easy for City and Chelsea to state they wanted no part of something that was very likely doomed to failure anyway.

For City, this was the perfect opportunity to take the moral high ground, and show everyone exactly what FFP was actually all about. I can’t escape the feeling that what we are doing by being involved here, is the exact same, as what other clubs have tried to do to us over the past few years. I know they say if you can’t beat them, join um but I had hoped we were better than that.
