I thought most of you lot getting the most outraged by this hated EUFA and the Champions League? Loads of supposed big fans last week were telling me on a thread that the FA Cup was more important and the whole thing is bent and all that. Well this decision is the biggest "Fuck off" to both UEFA and the CL that there has ever been. And if City are part of the decision making process in this new tournament and have a voice and/or a veto then surely you should be euphoric?
No fan of UEFA or the UCL but that doesn't mean I want us to become part of the protected Cartel slicing the money pie whichever way benefits us the most and deciding who can and can't play in this ESL.

Real Betis have updated La Liga table on their club website -

Always said Pellegrini was a great manager.

So do I.

But they are doing it and we had one decision: to be part of it or not. The Sheikh will not have thought twice about it. He's not in this because he went to York away or hates Man United. The fact that he's only been to matches once tells you all you need to know. He wants City to be the top club in Europe and after spending his billion quid or whatever we have to accept that.
That is the exact same attitude all the other clubs had towards us when we were fighting FFP. I thought we fought FFP because we were the actual good guys, who didn’t want a closed shop and instead wanted fair competition for all. I thought we saw through all the lies re FFP protecting the future of football clubs.

FFP was nothing more than a covertly introduced protection racket and now that it has failed, these clubs have simply fucked off trying to do it on the QT, and are instead now doing it in plain sight. For City to be part of this after these clubs would have quite happily seen us disappear out of existence is sickening.

Not jumping into that bed would be a far less sensible decision and anyone who thinks The Sheikh wouldn't make it has not been paying attention.
Do you seriously believe that the likes of Glazer, Perez, Kroenke, Henry and Agnelli are suddenly going to be all lovey-dovey towards City? What are the voting rules in this cosy little arrangement, for starters?

What's brought this on is the pandemic, the clubs have realised that they don't really need the fans to make money. We're just surplus to requirements.

They do need fans, without them there is no one paying to watch on TV or stream, no one to advertise to and they have no income. This new thing about legacy fans and fans of the future is what they are looking at though. Good luck to them. Having a load of people in China watch streams will not be the same as having passionate fans following the team. Without the passion it's just souless shite. Let them enjoy their "soccerball super bowl". People will soon tire of empty stadiums, people have put up with it short term due to the pandemic but won't long term.

Obviously you're at liberty to vote with your feet by not renewing your Sky Subscrition and Season Ticket. The only thing that could possibly stop this would be a mass, organised fan movement/boycott.
real fans of the 12 clubs - "legacy fans" would need to coordinate and work together - that won't happen. Everyone will clamour to be "morally correct" and blame someone else.

City defeating FFP will be blamed for fast forwarding this, and it did to a certain extent. This is the only way the other clubs can compete with us and PSG.

I called this last month

Accept it?

Why should we?

The CL reforms were bad enough but a closed shop money making machine with little or no thought for the fans?

It's a fucking disgrace.

What they should do if they want to make money is collectively make a max of 50k per week on the wages and stop paying the huge agent fees.
