IMHO what makes it worse is that 48 hours or so ago we all thought we had the perfect owners, they understood us as a fan base, got where we come from and managed, over an incredible 12/13 year period, to totally transform the club, the team as well as the local community.

On the pitch we have never seen football like it before, no one in England had

Then this.

Just feel cheated, by going along with the Glazers, JW Henry et al we are now what we had previously despised. We had the chance to dream and our came true. Now along with the Americans and Roman we are taking the dream away from everyone else.

The clubs hierarchy need to fucking explain themselves sharpish.
Excellent post, wasn't it only last year these clubs we are now getting into bed with, where signing letters and sending them to uefa, the fa and premier league to have us banned or points deducted. Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea all signed it along with Wolves, Leicester and Burnley.

How quickly we forget.

Our association with this lot, and our involvement in this sham as destroyed 12 years of good we've had from Sheikh Mansour, Khaldoon needs to make a statement and quick, explaining wtf is going on.

You know, if the media had spent less time with their heads up United and Liverpool's arses and fixating on how City and their evil Middle Eastern owner were going to ruin the game, they may have noticed the big dark cloud of American owned PL clubs that were conspiring to make these huge changes from the start like we'd been warning them about.

Of course City are in there too, but that's beside this specific point.
Correct!

I’d be right behind him if he had come out strongly to oppose it - absolutely agree with you there - but I’m not going to give him any credit for totally fudging an answer when comments he made 2 years ago were directly quoted at him.

Credit where it’s due - not where it’s not!
I am bemused. I did not hear a robust repudiation from Klopp tonight. I thought he waffled unintelligibly. But I can sympathise with his position.

Imagine if us and Chelsea had stayed?

City, Chelsea, PSG, Bayern, Dortmund, Porto, Lyon, Benfica, Leipzig, Ajax, Atalanta, Napoli, Roma, Lazio are still there as a foundation.

It would have been enough to stay and drag new clubs up or clubs from Eastern Europe that have been tossed to the side.

It's still enough, it's never too late.

The more I think about it the more backed into a corner the club must have been. The American clubs, knowing the CL announcement was due today, probably said you are with us or against us

neither option attractive for us

one thing is for sure if this comes off and we go in then I can’t see it turning out well for us

Since when was 6 three quarters of 20?

Aston Villa, Leeds, Sheffield United, West Brom, Fulham, Brighton, Burnley, Newcastle and Wolves have all been in the championship in the last 5 years. Add the 6 promoted sides and you've got 15

Which is 3/4s.

It is a championship level division without the Top 6.

I would imagine the owners are rocking right now and the phones are busy.
I think they won’t really care too much, they’re very successful businessmen. They will have calculated the risks and come to the conclusion that we’re ultimately expendable
