The whole thing is farcical anyway.

The new Champions League is a proto-super league.

But can work if it does. 20 team revamped CL based on merit and not privelage. Top 3 teams from England, Spain, Italy and Gemrany. 2 from France, 1 from Holland, Portugal and then a qualification tournamane tin August for the final 4 spots. Then a CL v2 (europa league) that improves the quality of that tournament massively as well. There are ways to make this work, but it has to be merit based, not detract massively from the countries leagues and it doesn't allow anyone guarenteed entry. You earn it.

Scrap the UCL and make a tournament at the end of the season. It will help with fixture congestion and injuries. Anything but the new UCL format or the ESL.

It shouldn't take any changes. As a club we have never been so powerful in the game. We are the best team in the country, one of the best in Europe and are financially strong when other clubs are not.

Perez and his cronies can talk about saving football all they like, they did the same with FFP, only everyone isn't buying it this time. FFP 1.0 was about stopping City and the next Man City - the "smaller" clubs were blasé about it all because they didn't see, or chose to ignore the bigger picture. ESL (FPP 2.0) impacts these clubs directly and now they wont lie down without a fight.

These "elite" clubs are scared, scared that their choices are spend a fortune (that they don't have) to maintain the status quo, or spend nothing to balance the books and watch other teams go past them. They will do whatever it takes, like inviting a club they've tried to bury for the past decade into their little cabal. Why are we helping them? We should be burying them. You reap what you sow.

I think every football fan knows in their hearts that we're half-way to a Super League anyway.

It is inevitable. It will be rancourous when it happens. My opinion is that it wont happen now but it is inevitable.

Man Utd started this all off with the Champions League, and every new format design takes us ever closer.

Never forget, the rags killed tradition by ditching the oldest cup tournament in the world for some international club friendlies in 2000. An FA Cup without the holders just to boost their shirt sales.
