But it's completely hollow, they don't withdraw if us and Chelsea hadn't already been doing so.

I would not argue with that, but that statement is an attempt to build bridges, as yet we have heard very little.

Hopefully today someone at the club will speak or issue a statement, beyond the 21 word statement put on the website last night.

There is a cult and then there are Florentino Perez fana. Clowns of highest level. They think Manchester City are responsible for mess that Perez created

I think what was telling also was the immediate announcement from UEFA and Ceferin in response to our withdrawal

Sure someone posted something last night that our owners had in fact decided to withdraw late yesterday afternoon, so that means Ceferin would have been aware we were doing so, hence there drafted response being released quickly

I don’t want to see us fined... that money would end up in Real and Barca’s pockets. So no.
I overlooked the fact that inexplicably Barca and Real are sticking by the plan, and want to play each other every Wednesday. Fair cop.

Assuming it eventually does totally crumble though, I stand by the notion that all 12 clubs should cough up the “financial penalties” they stuck in their contract, and it should be spread equally amongst every team affiliated with their respective football associations.

As much as I like the idea that this was a ploy by City and Ceferin to clear the decks of some of the corrupt twats at UEFA who tried to fuck us over last year, I think it's more than a little far fetched. However, there's quite possibly some truth in the bit I've bolded. It could be that we signed up but were also communicating with Ceferin all along - telling him we did it reluctantly and it didn't necessarily mean we were turning our backs on UEFA for good, proceeded to leak info to him from the inside. It's noticeable that in all his criticism the other day he never mentioned City by name, and that statement he made last night straight after City officially announced we were pulling out (almost literally at the same time as our club statement hmmmmm...) couldn't have blown any more smoke up City's arse if he tried. I mean, has he come out and said anything equally gushing about the other 5 clubs? ;)
I'm not saying it was a plan, I'm saying I'd be surprised if our owners hadn't done scenario planning for signing/not signing and the breakaway happen/not happening.

Sky just saying that City were sold something that was actually very different to what they thought it would be and were the last to sign up and were the first to go. This was driven by that clown at Real Madrid and the twats at Ushited, we should never have put our name to it even if it was only for three days.

That will start again tonight.;)
My mate who is similar age to you Oakie (72 and I know you are 70) doesn't swear but just calls him Marmite as an alternative. I did tell him about his FFS, nickname on BM but never in a million years would he swear, the older generation, don't think I could refrain.

I doubt there was much, if anything, in those agreements that was legally binding. The wording of the statements is telling. The clubs weren't withdrawing from the Super League itself as it clearly hadn't got that far; they were withdrawing from the group that was developing plans for the Super League.
