No idea if my memory is tricking me but Spurs left back should have been carded early doors for pulling Foden back and the subsequently got booked for another hack at Foden . Exactly the same scenario as Laporte . They both should have been booked first time around and I very much doubt either would have committed the second challenges .

It probably ought to have been one, but as Reguilon taking out Foden showed, the ref was in the mood to let the first one go. The wilful avoidance that a first yellow is likely to have changed behaviour for the second was blatant. Those two really do get very upset, which while painful on the ears is quite amusing.

A Newcastle fan colleague who lives nearby and was in the top tier said
"credit to the City fans - they were much louder than the Spurs lot. Their flag game was much more impressive too."
Also used the phrase "joy to watch".

I enjoyed the match thoroughly from first kick to last and my enjoyment was increased massively by the sound of some genuine football fans instead of that dreadful canned noise piped through. And our lads put on a real show for the crowd dominating the match for the whole 90 minutes, playing some excellent football with Foden and Mahrez giving superb displays. The Spurs fans must feel an awful sense of anti-climax because they were involved in a Wembley final, a real football occasion, and they never got into the game. But I'm not entertaining any of this rubbish that they were useless or embarrassing - they never got into the game because our lads never let them in. Why do so many of our own fans fail to see that we have - at the very least - one of the best teams ever and yet only seem to win trophies because we play teams which are no good? We won deservedly yesterday because Spurs were not - and are not on other days - anywhere near as good as our lads.

Gave both a free hit,how many times have we asked for a ref not to book too early.
I believe Laporte would not have committed that second foul if he got booked earlier.
