Different wording, the result is still the same though.

We have no space in our squad for new arrivals. It is one in one out already. Aguero and fernandinho leaving frees up two spaces, doesnt matter if they are home grown or not. For a third to arrive, a third player would have to leave (or be excluded from the CL squad).
Thanks, clear explanation. I nominate Mandy to free up a space. If he won’t / can’t leave I would exclude him from the CL squad and backfill with a traffic cone.

he is not going anywhere neither is nathan or ferran , some people need to give their heads a wobble
Some players might want to leave tho. Laporte spoke to the media about his playing time not so long ago. Torres will be here next season.

If the player is not willing to accept their role within the squad then they need to speak with their agent about a move.

I have a feeling that if we win the champions league a few players will want out. Finances might be a problem with Covid. We might need incoming funds to go after Haaland.

Constantly rotating your CBs is not preferable and stones / Dias will get the majority of games.

That could be the case but a lot can happen in the off season, no-one thought Stones would even be at City, let alone playing at this level, 12 months ago.

I think we've learn't our lesson after Vinny left and Laporte got injured, we can't afford to let that happen again.

Maybe Ake leaves and Harwood-Bellis steps in, but i would be shocked if we let Laporte leave, in fact i wouldn't be surprised if he's starting at CH next season.

Aouar seems a no brainer at that price

Although personally, I would prefer us to go for a more physical player to alternate with Rodri/play as a B2B CM, Aouar seem Gundogan esq in that he can play the holding midfield role but not as a tackler, more a deep playmaker

Would we get 3 midfielders (Aouar, Grealish and the physical CM) when we need a striker? Doubt it

We do have space for the PL squad list mate. I didn’t say we would, I said we could.

Do we need Carson or Mendy in the CL squad?

I totally agree it’s an unlikely scenario, but facts are facts pal

You got our current squad wrong for a start, so I've stopped reading assuming the reat is wrong too (as it is based on the wrong starting information, rather than because I am a prick).

Your last line is right, different rules in the CL, and as a club that's what City will build to.
Prick ;)

Which part of the current squad have I got wrong pal? Happy to be corrected on any misinformation I’ve posted

they are both in the CL squad, have been all season. That's the fact. As is that we have to have 3 keepers in the CL squad and we don't have a club trained one.

It is a nonsense arguement. If we omit players, we will have space. No shit. If we sell players we will also have space. The fact is, we currently don't.

we have 5 homegrown and 16 non. and 2 club trained (u21).

Ah, ok, so is Ake the HG one I missed? The 2 club trained ones are Foden & Garcia I’m guessing, which is makes no difference as they aren’t on the A list cos they’re U21.

Apologies for making that mistake about Ake, but to discount the rest of the post is a little bit silly as it makes no real difference to the rest of the point I made about squad numbers

In fairness i acknowledged your point was valid. I just skipped to it as the rest was based on that number. Which I already noted.

Either way, irrelevant arguement, the club will build a squad it can use, not a squad it can use in the PL.

Find it hard to believe this story. Pep loves players including his front men to not only score goals but link up play and be good on the ball and be able to keep possession, We would find ourselves having the constantly win the ball back with the ball bouncing off the donkey up front. Don't care how many goals he has scored for Belgium, Rags or Inter. He's not only a ****, He's a shit ****.

They are in the CL squad this season. But the rest of my post was about next season. We have to have 3 keepers in the CL squad? Really? Can you point me to that rule or have you just made that up?

Do we need Carson (will he even be here? No idea on his contract situation?)in the CL squad when we already have Ederson & Steffan with Trafford on the B list?

I’d suggest not & as an old pro who never plays, I doubt Carson would be arsed if he was or not,

It’s not nonsense & it’s also not an argument.

Are we likely to have one in one out? Absolutely. Do we have to? Do we fuck
