What was the specific injury and prognosis to make you think that it could be a chronic issue?
I believe he's got shin splints, small stress fractures that make it very painful and difficult to train. I had the same injury as a young sportsman. Personally I had to take many months off but I made a full recovery and it did not recur.

Sterling won’t get the summer off. He’ll get a couple of weeks in July.
Agreed he shouldn't get much rest you would think with the Euros! I think the issues with Sterling ATM could have a strong mental aspect? Some players will have been effected with Covid isolation more than others.
Recently Pep has rested him a lot, considering he's the second highest paid outfield player in the PL, (excluding Bale).
In the last 5 CL games, he's played a total of 30 minutes!
In the last 10 PL games he's been completely rested for 4 of them, in the remaining 6 he's played we have lost 3 of them when he's played a full 90, plus the FA cup semi when he played a full 90. Sterling's lost some self confidence, hopefully he will improve before the CL final and be pushing for a starting position.

Haha nothing specific at all. I'm just going on what was mentioned on the Guardian Podcast. Apparently Smith said it was a loading injury which translates to it getting worse the more he plays. In the shin area. Anyway I wasn't trying to state anything as fact. I actually really like the transfer and hope we get him (injury free ha).

No probs, just thought you had heard something

Going to Liverpool, his brother leaked it. £70 M + Harvey Elliott the opposite way (To villa)

Well that’s shit. We could really have done with him. Pisses me off when we don’t outbid direct rivals for players that would make a huge difference to them or us.

So you're just taking that as gospel then?

No but it sounds plausible unfortunately, teams like Villa always seem happy to take shit young players off Liverpool or rags in exchange for their best player. Maybe we should offer them Mendy plus cash.

I think it would be wise just to see how this plays out, rather than taking an unsubstantiated rumour as true.
