It's become an obsession with legalities over common sense. The offside rule should return to a position whereby lines are drawn on a screen set at an agreed distance and if it's not obvious the player is offside then they are onside. This would speed the game up. Some will go for you and some against, which is no different to how things were when the decision was up to linesmen to make. But it will be quicker which is what is needed.

In terms of the handball rule - needs to return to ball to hand or hand to ball.

Regarding fouls/dangerous play etc - it needs to be viewed in real time predominantly. Anything slowed down looks worse. There could be no intent to harm in real time, it could just be late. Which would be a booking. But when slowed down it looks violent and serious foul play and is a red. That's nonsense.

Cancelo's sending off yesterday, according to Walton (aka idiot), was because it denied a goal scoring opportunity. Welbeck "could have" had the ball under control and gone on to score so it had to be a red. That's all fine and I totally agree. But take your head out of your rule book and watch the incident... Cancelo takes a poor touch but would have been able to hook the ball somewhere, if not for Welbeck wrapping his arm around Cancelo's and dragging him to the ground. From the referee's angle it looked as though Cancelo was responsible. From the angle VAR had it was clear Welbeck fouled Cancelo.

VAR is not the issue it’s the useless twats that are controlling it that creates the problem .......... until you have people running it who have no connections to the on field match officials then this will sadly go on :(

The useless twats ARE var.
I'm not talking about the cameras, or the lines or the slo-mo or who knows who.
I mean the whole stinking shit show, the ridiculous notion that microscopic investigation of a football game will somehow make it 'fairer, or 'justice' will be served because every decision will be the correct one.
 
Staggering that someone who can't put in a decent performance on the pitch is now going to a dedicated VAR official. I am getting closer and closer to ending my days watching live football in the grounds mainly due to the fact that we have seemingly decided to go down the WWE route and provide a product. Still nobody in the media has called out Scudamore for his plan to get new names winning the title every six years and what it meant. Nobody is calling out the cheating by the players with their diving and continuous defiance of the laws, nobody calling out the refs for their total inability to ref the game according to the laws and nobody is calling out VAR for the sack of shit it is and how it is being implemented.

Riley given a job to his mate to keep him sweet, now he can no longer allow him to take the field after that farcical free-kick debacle.
 
The cartel didnt want VAR because it would in theory diminish their control of officials, however, they have weaponised it to be an added string to their corrupt bow.Funnily enough neither of the two red twat clubs have the big screens needed to show the plebs in the stadium what’s being reviewed hence they aren’t used for that purpose in any stadium, also funnily enough John Henry the yank vulture who owns the bin dippers has shares in the VAR software.
What often gets missed in this sea of deceit is that referees are their to ensure players don’t injure each other intentionally, from the first minute last night you could see those shithouses would kick fuck out of City, the bent bastard in the stadium gave them the green light early doors thus a gross dereliction of his duties, why is this not brought up? This bollocks about never questioning the integrity of a referee, where has it come from? Are we to assume every referee who ever existed wasn’t being manipulated or settling personal scores? its like a bank manager stuffing tenners in his pocket every night and walking out the door, all on film of course but without ever been brought to book for something everyone can see.

Seriously, what more evidence do we need? Is this not yet another case where Riley and his bent mates stick the proverbial two-fingers up at us whilst simultaneously robbing us of our money?

It's fucking demoralising, that's what it is.

I'll bet most of us have loved the sport since we were old enough to get a basic understanding of what the game was all about. We've all at one time or another played in the streets or on the local playing fields, stayed up late to watch MotD, collected stickers and cards etc, organised our whole lives in order to watch/play the game.
Yeah, jumpers for goalposts, all of that. Avidly reading 'Shoot' and any other football-related magazine from back in the day.
Football was our lives: we ate, drank and talked football whenever we were awake, and probably dreamed of scoring the winner in an FA Cup Final in our sleep.

But now look at what has become of our game. Look what these faceless men in suits have done to the honesty and integrity of our national sport - stolen it and sold it to the highest bidder. Took them a good few years, but they've finally achieved what they wanted all along...stuffed their pockets with our money and Royally fucked us over in the process.

That's why I say demoralising: because that's exactly the effect these bastards have had on all of us that love the game.
