bloody crazy all this uncertainty, so we now thinking a lateral flow test is fine for Portugal or just the stadium
Or is this just for people already in Portugal?

So PCR test booked for Thursday 27th same day result this covers me 72 hoursuntil 2:30pm on the Sunday?

However I arrive back in Manchester on Sunday at 3:10pm - 72 hours and 40 minutes after the original PcR

I had booked an antigen at Manchester airport on Friday to cover the return trip home, any one know if I will still need this or not?

2 day test upon return is already sorted as they are positing this out!

confusion is does the original PCR cover for 3 days so Friday, Saturday, Sunday or is it 72 hours and as a result the antigen test is needed on the Friday morning?

if anyone knows, thanks in advance

Requirement for entry in Portugal is negative test 72 hours prior to departure.
Requirement for entry into UK is any time in the 3 days before you fly.

your PCR will cover for entry into Portugal and return to UK and also entry into the stadium.

Yes, you'll be fine. Not many will want to pay £385/£515 for a ticket. That may end up being 2,000ish tickets. That's on top of the cost of two PCR tests and a long day out with little in the way of sightseeing. At best you'll have a £600 day out. Many I have spoken to are much happier watching it with mates in a pub at home.

Think I've got my head around the requirements but good to get reassurance. @Tonster you seem to have appointed yourself expert ;)

I'm flying Wednesday at 06:15 (so will probably see the United fans on their day trip at the airport).

I think I need to get my PCR test after Sunday at 9am and would prefer going to a clinic rather than rely on Royal Mail (already doing that for my ticket). Found one which is £99 - is there a better price for an in clinic test?

I have to get a lateral flow in Portugal to get in the ground, and I think I can also use this for the return flight (as long as I get it done within 72 hours of arrival in the UK). Haven't fully investigated prices for this yet. Will accept suggestions.

Then finally, need to book a PCR test on the Tuesday (day 2 after returning late on Sunday). I've found a government approved one for £50 - again is that the best rate?

Yeah, I feel the same. Been on the CL scheme every year but refused to be blackmailed into paying platinum prices. It's likely going to cost me the chance of a final ticket but at least I know it's proper, long-standing fans in front of me. Nobody is fluking a ticket here. I can live with that.
