Jack Grealish

Grealish’s versatility is definitely something which fits with the type of players we like to sign. Same with his technical ability. I’ve never really disputed that.

I appreciate a lot of people think this is a nailed on transfer but I’ve always felt it feels more like a marker. The priority is 9 and that going to be expensive . This one feels in % terms less than 50 of it actually happening because were stacked in that department.
You doubt Ric’s itk credentials?

There is huge irony to that comment.
Not really. Sterling doesn't need me to stick up for him. I just don't like bullies. Never have.

A lot of the same posters were saying he would never make it here, especially not under Pep. 3 years hiding under the nearest rock and now out they all come again.

The facts speak for themselves. Games, goals, assists, leadership. Calling him shit isn't a 'valid opinion', it's just plain fucking wrong.

I'm not sure that attacking me and others defending one of our own against 'supporters' who seem intent on constantly dragging them down is quite the gotcha that you think it is.

So how the fuck do you know “the club wants to renew his contract” then babe?
Because every other news source, as well as connected City fans on here and elsewhere, are all saying the same thing.

Not every news source or media outlet is a tabloid. The 'tabloid bullshit' is the idea that Sterling is some kind of greedy, money-grabbing, lazy player with a bad attitude. The kind of shit that was rightfully condemned on here when written on the front pages of the Sun and the Mail. Apparently it's fair game for people on here to make the same accusations without a shred of evidence.

They've got the cultists in Liverpool and we've got the cullists in Manchester.

Never understood why every summer people flock to bluemoon in expectation that we're going to auction off or swap half of the best squad in the league for players of quality varying from top class to flavour of the month relegation fodder.

Grealish falls closer to the former category but we've already got two better wingers than him, plus one who scores more goals even when he's out of form. We've got the best midfielder on the planet, one who is mix of pure class and relentless effort and one who is arguably our best player this season.

He's a decent player but he's not close to being worthy of picking our squad apart. The only way he'd really be necessary is if someone wants to leave.

You dont like bullies? i despise them....so it might be an idea if you have a word with some of those that share your opinion and ask them to stop calling people racists, gobshites and halfwits because they cant stand the thought of someone else having a different opinion or not being right.

A lot of supporters expect 100% loyalty from players but conveniently forget what the word means when their form drops off.

I wouldn't even care if it was just about what happens on the pitch but the insinuations about his character start every time the goals start to dry up.

He does bring something different. He has a unique blend of balance, strength, acceleration and technical ability that our current players only have in part.
His ability to hold the ball in tight space and/or take pressure off our defence/midfield while bringing others into play is also something we currently need to improve on.
He rarely loses possession and he rarely chooses the wrong ball, add that to his dead ball and set piece brilliance, and he makes for the perfect addition for our team.

The fact he pushes someone down the pecking order bothers me not one bit,as he improves our first 11....and progression is what keeps us Champions..

Agreed. He also has four or five years on Kev, Gundo and Mahrez.

Grealish isn't just for the here and now.

We must have succession plans across the board for key players.

Grealish in two years costs even more when the market trends up again and he will be entering his peak, while Gundo and Kev will need to be rotated more.

It's a no brainer to take any opportunity this summer.

Fucking lol. As I said, you’ll believe what you want to believe and nothing more.

Weird how you’ll ignore the connected City fans about Grealish when you need to.

Exactly......He is also one of a handful of players that would worry me if the Rags, chelsea or the Dippers signed him.

And a great many fans expect no loyalty as they know 90% of footballers don’t give a fuck about which club they’re playing at so long as they’re well paid and have a chance at silverware. Once you understand that, things become a lot easier.

I don’t click on the Sterling thread very often, what are the current insinuations that you’re talking about?

Wasn't it a no brainer to put in a £100m+ bid for Dele Alli a couple of seasons ago?

Personally, I'd leave him where he is for now and if he goes somewhere else then so be it, there will be better players our there by the time the need for a midfield refresh comes. Until then, he doesn't immediately improve what we have.

His head is elsewhere, he wants to leave, he doesn't care, he can't take criticism, he's mentally weak and so on and so on.

And a great many fans expect no loyalty as they know 90% of footballers don’t give a fuck about which club they’re playing at so long as they’re well paid and have a chance at silverware. Once you understand that, things become a lot easier.

Cheers for explaining that mate, I had no idea that this is their occupation.

False syllogism.

Well you’re the one talking about loyalty and modern football as if it actually means something.

The only sections of a club that remains loyal is/are the fans. Everything else comes and goes.

Bit funny that, regarding the tears shed for one of our departing players yesterday.

Yep - I just can’t see the club prioritising yet another attacking midfielder when our clearest need is up front.

We have incredible options in Grealish’s position already, whereas at 9 we now have just Jesus (who is a great player, but could hardly be described as clinical) and Delap (who has just turned 18)

For me, I’d far rather we left both Grealish and Kane well alone, and went all out for Haaland.
