Yes, but no public statement will be made until the Champs League final is out of the way.I see no reason why this can't be happening now. The people involved in negotiating transfers are not involved in preparing the team for Saturday so their full focus could be on this.
Sterling has achieved 25 goals in a season twice. His tally this season is more in keeping with the rest of his career. I am not saying he can’t get back to 25+ but his high scoring seasons were the anomalies, not the norm. He has earned a bad spell and I think most fans would be more acceptant to that, if it weren’t for his contract situation.
As far as I am aware (happy to be corrected) most incentives at City are based around team performance rather than individual performance. I think the days of appearance and goal bonuses are largely gone. Effectively an individual can be turd all season, but if the side wins the Prem and erm Champions League, said player probably gets close to the max payout they are entitled to under their contract. Therefore if the club does as expected each year, Sterling is getting an absolute wedge, no matter what he does. The only way we save money here, is if the team does shite and none of us want that.
It’s easy to judge with the benefit of hindsight, but the Stones situation was similar, albeit with smaller figures involved. By all accounts he was done here and the club willing to listen to offers for him last summer, as he only had 2 years left on his contract. If we had been offering him a new £150k pw contract 12 months ago, this place would have gone into meltdown. Obviously we have a different outlook now.
Sterling has 2 years left on his deal, I would prefer the club take the same approach as they did with Stones and see how he performs next year, before committing to what could be an insane contract offer. If he performs, he gets a new deal and everyone’s happy. If he doesn’t, he gets shipped out and we are able to assign his wages elsewhere.
The fear I have, is that we miss out on Kane because of lack of finances. It would be crazy to potentially lose out on someone who actually does guarantee 25+ goals a season, because we are stuck with a £300k pw bill for Sterling for the next 5 years.
That’s simply not true mate. If you’ve watched any of the previous videos from our execs, they specifically talk about having a profile as you say, but also about going outside of this profile for the right players. Kane is good enough to be one of those playersWe will not sign Kane, he simply does not fit the profile we are working to. We want players who can give us ten years of service, someone like Torres. We would spend big but it would have to be Mbappe or Harland.
Being a member on here since 2009 and yet sounding like a 4 year old is genuinely impressive. Well done.Rubbish. Do one. You don’t appreciate just what Raz has done for us. Short memory - little fan

H.grimes guy on Twitter saying Kane will be a city player , wouldn’t think much of it other than the fact he keeps calling transfers right for other clubs before the news even breaks. Said Kane has an agreement with City.
that’s the easy part it’s dealing with spurs that’s the hard part..
It’s not even bloody ML never mind AI - it’s statistical forecasting irritates me daily that one.
The offer: Forward Gabriel Jesus, centre-back Aymeric Laporte, one young prospect (perhaps either forward Liam Delap, midfielder Adrian Bernabe or winger/wing-back Luke Bolton) and between £15m and £25m
Trading for Tottenham's Harry Kane: Assessing what Chelsea, Man City and others could offer (espn.com)
