It'd be useful if Mr Govt. could provide a breakdown in ages/vaccine/no vaccine on these figures, it may mean people would actually have it as however it all falls until we are near enough all jabbed the UK and the world isn't going to get even near an acceptable new norm.It is if you look at the England picture. Not if you look at the NW one.
NW is far and away why there is even a posibility of no opening up next month.
The only area where this variant seems to hve taken a big hold and may be creat ing issues.
Hopefully these will be the unvaccinted. Hopefully the unvaccinated will see sense and stop saying no.
But if not and the opening up gets suspemded - even just locally in the NW or GM - then do not complain about lack of freedoms. In a pandemic you have a right to say no. But have to take the consequeces of that no as well.
Vaccine rollout going wellSome good news at last today!
Northern Ireland is the first of the 4 nations to have ZERO patients with Covid on a ventilator since last Summer.
There are 28 patients in hospital there out of a population of 1.9 million.
I know the feeling. We found the same when we went out in town last week. And the sort of thing that tends to stick.I went out at lunchtime into Stockport. Produce Hall Market Place. Just wanted a coffee that’s all. App this app that! Couldn’t be arsed so walked out and had a pint in the Petersgate Tap. It was less palaver to get a pint!
Might go some way to explaining what's going on with this current rise in cases. Basically one dose of AZ is doing very little and two doses of this particular vaccine are absolutely necessary. Drop off for one dose of Pfizer nowhere near as bad and still offers good protection.
We will have so many people at present on one dose of AZ.
Actually given that news it might make more sense to reduce the 12 weeks between doses idea rather than increase (as some were speculating a few weeks ago), that 2nd dose of AZ has became even more important. Or would that then weaken the effect of the second dose given their recommendation was 12 weeks? Just thinking out loud.

Second dose of AZ has already been brought forward to 8 weeks, obviously for this reason.
They have been doing AZ early for quite a while. I think before this data was known. My second AZ jab was due next week (12 weeks), but I firstly got the opportunity to bring it forward a week .and then when I took Mrs Unicorn for her second jab in Sheffield last Sunday night the nice lady offered me a jab there and then. seemed very keen to get folk on AZ done ahead of schedule.
Not for everyone. My eldest son booked his AZ yesterday for June 6th. His 2nd jab date is 12 weeks later. Stockport. Is that for everyone? I thought that was just for certain sectors of the population, but it might have bypassed me (as most things do!!)
