Remember those trials in Brazil where they vaccinated entire villages to see what sort of effect they would have? The results are stunning. We're some way off, obviously, but a reminder of why we need to get through this process as quick as we possibly can.

Coronavac vaccine I believe is another name for Sinovac. I don't think we have any of that one here, could be wrong.

England hospital deaths just ONE

In Birmingham. Aged 60 - 79.

Obviously Bank Holiday data an issue - last Tuesday was 9 with 4 NW, then 8 with 2 and wk before 11 with 1
 
England hospital deaths Monday - also 1 - from Nottingham. Over 80.

Previous wks - 3 with 1 NW v 3 with 0 and 4 with 0 wk before.
 
England hospital deaths Sunday - 3 again ALL from Midlands 1 each aged 40 - 59, 60 - 79 and 80 plus.

All three in Birmingham

Wks before 2 v 1 v 2
 
England hospital deaths Saturday - 9

2 London (KIngston x 2) 2 South West (Devon and Exeter)

2 Midlands (Nottingham & Walsall)

2 NW ( 1 Bolton and 1 East Lancashire/Blackburn).

And 1 Yorkshire (Bradford)

Previous weeks

8 with 2 NW v 4 with 0 and v 13 with 2

1 aged 40 - 59, 5 aged 60 -79 and 3 aged 80 +

The vaccinations are making a big difference between how bad this would have been had it been 3 or 4 months ago and now.

Look at the positives from Bolton. Biggest outbreak in GM. It has been got under control in a week or two by the looks of it and falling. And hardly anyone there has died and only modest numbers in hospital. The entire NW never went above 200 patients in the period Bolton was having more cases than that every day.

And as I reported earlier there are only 43 in hospital with Covid in Bolton - down 6 over past few days.

This is a wave of cases but not thankfully of really sick or dying people.

Yep and not every one is lucky enough to live with someone, be in a relationship or still have their parents for support or live in a house with a nice garden.
I have neither yep the assumption with a lot of people is that they assume everyone has someone for support.
 
Scotland data:

0 deaths - was 2 last week

478 cases - was 318 last week

Positivity 3.1% - was 2.0% last week

106 patients - was 97 last week

10 ventilated icu - was 6 last week

These numbers are not looking that good sadly.

The hospital numbers keep going up. Slowly but surely.

Though these still are modest numbers. Though up 16 patients and 4 ventilators just over the weekend.

It's been a long time coming for them, that's for sure. Made all the more difficult in recent weeks when everyone in surrounding areas have been on level 2. I understand the reasoning, I'm just happy for them that cases seem to have stabilised and they're able to join the rest of Scotland (with exception of a few areas who are now even moving to level 1 restrictions!)
 
However, to end on the best data of the day....

Northern Ireland

0 deaths - was 0 last week

54 cases - was 75 last week

3.0% positivity - was 3.8% last week

Rolling 7 day total 460 - was 518 Friday & 583 last week

Care Home Outbreaks 4 - was 4 Friday & last week

I agree with this completely, and have had close family members severely and directly affected with a major impact on their lives.

Nevertheless, I think it's really important to also reflect the reality that there has not, thankfully, been an increase in people taking their own lives. Indeed, what evidence there is points to the opposite.

I think it's important to remove restrictions as fast as we can commensurate with not causing even more harm with a further, major wave.
 
Northern Ireland positive cases by age range:

0 - 19 (182) 39.6%

20 - 39 (173) 37.6%

40 - 59 (74) 16.1%

60 - 79 (27) 5.9%

80 + (4) 0.8%


The 60 - 79 has increased a little but the 80 plus is now almot zero

Tiny numbers up and down now can exaggerate day to day which is why I do not post this data every7 day.

And not far off 80% are under 40.
