Harry Kane

He failed in France. He didn’t improve PSG. He fluked his way to a “CL final” in a single-round mini summer tournament after PSG were given the easiest CL draw in history. They were still almost eliminated by Atalanta and his team was carried by the individual brilliance of Neymar and Mbappe with no plan B.

People can say what they want about Klopp but he won the Bundesliga twice with Dortmund, as well as 2-3 domestic cup trophies. He and Tuchel are not on the same level.

As for Tuchel potentially replacing Pep, I would hate to watch his brand of football here, regardless of whether it would be successful or not. Make no mistake, he won the CL with them which is fair enough, but so did Di Matteo. That in itself does not show that someone is a great manager. They almost missed out on Top 4 and ended up finishing behind a shit Liverpool side. I don’t buy into the hype. He’ll be gone this time next year.
Pep places Tuchel above Klopp according to the last book I read from Marti Perinaur.

100% agree but I would rather spend the 100m+ on a guy we can have for a good 8-10 years not someone who may have 3-4 good years left in him before we have to go back to the market for another striker.
Yes but 8-10 years is the rare exception rather than the norm. Even if we got Haaland, it's likely especially with his agent that he'll move on in a few years.
I would be happy with Kane for 3-4 years which would mean minimum 100 goals, and then look for someone else

No guarantee anyone is here for 8-10 years.

3-4 of Kane and him coaching Delap is a lot more beneficial than Haaland for two seasons before he's upset and wants to move.

Also thought this might be a strategy, there's no doubt Delap is a huge talent. Maybe he's front and centre in the clubs thoughts as far as a striker goes, working with Kane would be huge for his development.

Of course I wouldn't turn my nose up at Haaland either but feel Kane is more realistic.

I think everyone looks at players like Ibra and thinks that's what Raiola does with his clients, which is just patently false, there are numerous stories of Raiola clients staying at clubs for a very long time. Take Veratti for example, he's been at PSG for quite a while now, and it should be noted again that Raiola is not the agent he is there is more of an advisory role.

Kane is 28 in July..may get 4 good seasons out of him..no doubt..Haaland has maybe 12 years ahead of him..do you buy a house knowing that in 4 years it will be worth nothing, may need underpinning (ankles) or a house that may appreciate in value which you can sell if you have to ?? Footy is business, and City are great at doing business. I understand amortisation etc.. but Kane does not fit the City mould as far as I can see. Kane or Haaland will be great for City, but in business, Haaland wins.

Haaland may have 12 years or 18mths before Raiola gets a move to Madrid for him, nobody knows.

Football is a business and we have Pep, is Pep going to be here for 12 years? I doubt it.

Pep may see Kane as an immediate impact and think, lets go out and win the lot for 3 years with Kane at the top and then thats me done.

The club have to look beyond Pep of course but they also owe it to him to give him the tools to continue winning.

In 3 years there will be a new Haaland, in fact he may already be here. Liam Delap.

Conte is a proven winner, I can see Kane staying

Conte also loves 352, and with Kane and Son up top, he has the players to perform this, he can probably do some voodoo to convert some of those players into great wingbacks, anybody who can make Victor Moses a premier league winner get's some props from me.

Honestly, wouldn't mind next season going with Jesus and Ferran as our strikers. Ferran is showing real promise there and with Delap most likely getting some gametime (Khaldoon just name dropped 3 or 4 academy players as getting chances), I am perfectly happy next season going with these 3. Then the season after getting Haaland on a reduce payment.

No way are Jesus and Torres the answer to our finishing problems, they’re just not clinical enough. Decent squad players but not world class strikers for a club with our ambition and expectations.

Besides, Khaldoon already said we would sign quality in a couple of key positions. Having let our only world class striker go, then that has to be one of those positions. Kane or Haaland are coming.

I'm mainly being hopeful, it seems certain we will buy a striker.

I think Ferran is a clinical striker for what it's worth, that's the only reason I want him up top.

City are not a selling club. They are more likely to ride a player until they have no transfer value then sell just because the sell on value is good. And even when they sell (first team players), they're very hit and miss at it - and I think that's being generous.
