Harry Kane

What do we all think is a realistic transfer fee for Kane? I can see the club going to £90m absolute maximum. £150m being quoted is just an insane figure, definitely not justifiable.
I think Kane couldn't have picked a worse time to want a transfer. These gentlemans agreements between players and chairman either don't exist, or do exist but are rarely honoured. Levy will want a value that in any normal year would make most clubs eyes water, but this year, of all years it will surely prove prohibitive to all potential buyers. I don't see us dropping £100m+, I think it would take a player going the other way to give this real legs.

I honestly can't see it happening (with any club) for any less than 100m up front plus 20-30m in addons. Even that is bare minimum after months of haggling and media wrangling. Probably 120m plus addons as a realistic.

I agree and the issue that raises is that Haaland is 7 years younger and likely just as effective, with a potentially higher ceiling. At £120m Dortmund would probably talk. If not, they'd be tempted. Why not go to £150m for a 7 year younger model? There's just no way Levy can position it as good value if Haaland is on the market, and he's a notoriously hard headed negotiator, so I don't see it happening. For Levy, driving all comers away and keeping an unhappy Kane is the best outcome.

Circa £70m + someone like Ake or Cancelo - even though he’s shown he can be the best full-back in the league when in-form/in the mood.

£110m + £20m in add ons is probably not far off.

Also another thing to factor is that Kane seems desperate to join, I don't get this impression from Haaland. By all accounts this is a factor City value hugely.

Levy will take the money, he always does. Spurs is bad financial shape too to boot.

The Cl final is key to everything, if we win that then significant funds become available to us and it cements our place at the very top table.

I prefer Haaland to Kane but with his agent after a couple of years we will see the same circus the Rags have seen with Pogba.

So Kane may be seen as the better option at this time.
