Murder is the only crime where the sentence should be about punishment and not rehabilitation. The person murdered has had their whole life and future taken away. All their hopes, dreams, ambitions gone in an instant. No rehabilitation for them, no second chances, no magic potion to rescue them from the grave and give them another twenty years because they've suffered from being denied any for thirty years. They're gone forever. Then you add the murdered persons family into the equation who suffer everyday of their lives. They suffer from the pain of reliving their family members final moments on earth, which with a murder was probably terrifying and extremely traumatic. Then they suffer the person's loss. Birthday's, family gatherings, the anniversary of the death. Even happy times are forever tinged with the knowledge the murdered person isn't there to share them. They truly serve a full life sentence for committing no crime.
Pitchfork is the worse kind of murderer. He killed for his own perverted sexual pleasure and chose helpless vulnerable victims, which cowards like him do. He doesn't deserve freedom and he will be a risk to young girls and women until the last breath has left his body. Hopefully that day is sooner rather than later.
