The one that looks to be off is Bernardo, but time will tell, if we sign both Kane and Grealish , I would imagine we will have to raise some cash.

Fern will be a bit part player if he resigns, Gundo and Rodri will be coming off the back of a lot of football, they will need looking after early season.

Dryness and lack of water presents its own problems, Alf. Several times in the past we considered a holiday home on Greece or even a permanent move. City were a major factor but our weather good or bad and the difference between our seasons caused us to just stick to holidays (when allowed).
The sight of rolling hills covered on snow and the crunch of boots in fresh snow.
Spring with its huge range of green buds emerging plus the various blossoms.
Summer is pretty good and it's getting warmer.
Then Autumn with all its colours and kicking the fallen leaves underfoot in the Lakes and Peak District even streets and public parks.
I read something about Bernie spending time in the beautiful nature places in UK. So it can't be too bad for him;)
Having said all that l will be glad to get back to Greece in Spring and early Autumn each year even though there is little change throughout the year.

If I had the cash I would retire to Spain/somewhere hot and nice for 8 months of the year and come back home for the other 4 months.

I wouldn't miss the snow and rain in all honesty, living in Carlisle I have seen enough rain to last the rest of my life and I fkn hate snow. :)

The other thing I would add, we have all been to Spain on holiday and the skies have opened and flooded the streets, an hour later you wouldn't even know it had rained, over here it is wet all day long lol

Not settling down and adapting or being homesick are perfectly acceptable but does 4 month worth of rain realy lead to that?

I can understand some poor fucker in a dreary terrace in moston getting on a bus whose windows leak in heavy rain being fed up when it rains but let's no pretend when it is uncomfortable in a nice plush house in south manchester or driving around in a nice motor.


And yes if I had the chance I would be off back off to living in Thailand, but it rains like fuck there for months too tbf

No one says he has used it as an excuse.

The weather conversation was a general one abput when journos repeat the usual cliche that it is always wet in Manchester so players don't sign for northern clubs

I have friends who suffer from SAD and the gloomy autumn winter months play havoc with them so no one denies it doesn't affect some people also we as mates are always supportive and understanding.


The claim is bernardo hasn't settled down, not sure anyone mentioned the weather as the primary reason

Boo hoo if it is a bit dark & cold for him. He knew what the weather was like when he signed the contract. If he's that soft that he can't take a couple of years of that until his contract finishes then we should get rid anyway. He could go anywhere he likes afterwards.

I don’t think anyone truly knows what to expect from him or even whether he’ll impress enough immediately to avoid going out on loan. Plus he plays where Mahrez plays, not where Grealish plays.

Yes, but Bernardo is probably leaving. Do you want to not replace him and only have Gundo and Kevin, considering Phil is a winger for us? When Bernardo and Kev play as an 8, they both prefer the right sided 8, so it’s actually a better balance to bring Grealish in who would prefer the left slot. Gundo I feel can play either side just as well. I also expect a bromance between Jack and Kev, similar to Dias and Stones as both players have often spoken incredibly highly of the other. It’s a dream signing, I don’t know how anyone could have an alternative view really, it’s perfect.

I know. The point I was making was he is a predominantly right sided player, so shuffling so much may not be necessary if bernie goes and kayky slots in.
Lot of conjecture, of course, but worth noting.
Saying that, if Pep has too much Tizer one night before he goes to bed he may end up brainwaving Kayky into a left back... who the fuck knows!!
