I can't help but feel this is all a dance showing the fans that Messi wanted to stay, the club wanted to keep him. They did everything they could but FFP rules just would'nt allow it.
I just don't see how the rules don't get relaxed and Covid is the perfect excuse for them, LaLiga can't afford to see Messi rock up in the Premier League.
