Judging by the number of young people that I've heard about that have caught it, it wouldn't surprise me if, together with those double jabbed, we've achieved herd immunity of Delta in the NW. Too early to know but it wouldn't surprise me if case rates plummet over the next few weeks.

I do not think you are far wrong there. The most vulnerable being near fully protected and the younger ones clearly driving this wave makes that the only really viable strategy as we are racing to get near 100% with some immunity before the Winter so they are speeding up both ways to get there with the least risk to both life and NHS swamping,

Most is true but Covid passports are a thing and will be for travel overseas which is entirely understandable

On a side note Beth Rigby has some fucking neck calling the restrictions being lifter reckless when she broke them anyway.

None of those things were going to happen, for two reasons. It's not the way a populist Tory like Johnson does things and more importantly, it would've been impossible to implement and police.

Depending on the test they can detect antibodies specific to the spike (could be either vaccine or infection) or antibodies to the other parts ofv the virus ( infection only)

Here's the uk prevalence of both. You can see how the impact of vaccination hits one test but not the other.

So depending on the exact test, you may get confirmation if you've been infected as well as vaccinated.

England hospital data Update from Past Weekend

As I expect you will not be surprised by - numbers going up more steeply now that every region is impacted,

Admissions (48 hours behind the other data which is to today recall) 295 - 307 - 323 over the 3 days.

Last week the same three days:- 194 - 206 - 223

So up by 100/101 week to week every day,

NW admissions were 76 - 80 - 83

Versus 57 - 61 - 56 last week

NE and Yorkshire has risen from 56 to 82 and is now side by side with the NW. But cases going up whilst NW looks to be flattening,


Over the weekend patients in England went from 1611 Friday to 1636 Saturday and 1744 Sunday and 1888 today. A rise of 277.

Last week the same 4 days were 1284 - 1276 - 1331 - 1465

So up 181 last week.

It was up 120 from 1170 to 1290 the week before.


40 days ago we were at the lowest point with 742 patients. It has been upwards ever since. But has not yet tripled from that low point. Over 6 weeks. But cases precede these rises so we are seeing the result this week of the big jump up last week,

It has since flattened off a bit remember.
