can anyone realistically have a valid point if the fee could be agreed why Grealish wouldnt come to City besides being a Villa lad? Villa have rich owners but they are MILES behind others in squad quality and could take 4-5 years to even be close to getting top 4 etc?

Unlike the striker situation, I think the potential Grealish signing is more about signing an available top class player who would fit into the team.

As opposed to signing a player because we actively need someone for the position.

My current thoughts on the Grealish deal is that Grealish has not made his mind up as to whether he wants to stay or leave which is why both sides are displaying confidence in him leaving/staying. This deal is not done yet but can be easily be done if he has a release clause in his contract. We've already agreed personal terms with him and the release clause allows us not to have to negotiate with Villa.

He is maybe looking at delphs trophy cabinet and thinking hell yeah
