Erling Haaland

Imamate to see if you were a City fan as couldn't understand your negativity or why anyone wouldn't want Haaland
Its not negativity. It is being realistic. It doesn't matter what we want, it matters what Pep wants or in fact what Erling himself wants, in all honesty it feels like what he wants is not to join City.

We can't afford not to and get left behind by our rivals

Ok pal, it is what it is. So far none of our rivals have made any signings so no real issue.
He will play for anyone if the money is right. That’s why I think Kane without the circus and an ultimate professional for me.
I disagree, I don't think its about money at all. I dont think its a case of City offering 100k, Chelsea offering 200k and Madrid offering 300k or something. Wage packages are all going to be very similar so now the lad just gets to pick and choose, seems likely he holds on and hopes he has more options next summer.

It's not as simple as wanting Kane or Haaland, there are several reasons why the club would see going for one over the other as better business and I imagine a lot of those reasons aren't to do with the respective abilities.
Whilst I'd personally take Haaland every day over Kane we have to accept its not an easy deal to make.
Regardless of Spurs bravado I expect the Kane deal to be far more straightforward even if the media will likely paint it as an epic battle or some such shit.
If both players made it clear they wanted to come, both for the same flat fee on the same wages then I doubt we'd see Kane anywhere near the Etihad even though I've read on here plenty that he's Peps priority. I think the only reason that may hold some truth is because we've known for some time that the Haaland deal is too difficult to pull off.

Disagree all about money and a circus to boot. Hawking him around Europe. Rather have Kane, plus he’s proven in the premier league.

If we don’t sign Haaland it can only be because of wages. We will certainly want him and he will certainly want us. But I can understand the club will not want to pay someone double what kdb and Sterling are earning. That’s looking at the bigger picture, something Pep and the board are very good at.

Amazes me that people seem to be unwilling to accept that maybe he doesn't want to sign for us for whatever reason other than how much he is going to get paid.

Yeah nothing unprofessional about giving an interview about wanting to leave and win things, while his club was still fighting for top4 and had a cup final to come.

They are not there to make easy deals, they are there to go after the right ones.

Both will be difficult to pull off, neither is drastically different to the other. Despite my own opinion on Kane, I do honestly thibk if he is the one the club go all in for, he is the one they want, and it isn't because they think it might be easier.

I'm uncinvinced they are though, to the extent the other is off the table. Time will tell I guess.

I have no issue accepting that. Just seen nothing that even remotely suggests it, so why make up that scenario for the sake of it.

So he will happily play for £100,000 a week for the dream team he wants to play for. Seems legit.

So what have you seen that remotely tells you he does want to sign?

In fact, he has probably shown no indication as to where he wants to play. It was just an observation that people think if he went anywhere other than City then its purely money driven.

I have no idea what is motivation is, but if he really wanted to then yes he could do that. As it stands though all of the packages on the table will be similar I imagine, he just has to pick one or as it seems, wait till next year.

Nothing at all. I never claimed I thought he does.

It was more that I can see that he would, given a chance, but for no other reason than could he said about any other player.

Agree with the second part.
