I must confess I bought into the hype that these were done deals but beginning to realise that frankly, we are nowhere near either player being confirmed.
Whilst I 100% trust the club to do what's best I can't help thinking along the same lines as you on this.
If players have been earmarked well in advance with personal fees agreed with agents etc then hanging around too late into the window negotiating with the clubs could well bite us on the arse.
I do accept this window is slightly different with the season ending late, euros just finishing and players getting much needed breaks. Obviously these have the potential to delay things slightly, but I'd be disappointed if we start the first couple of games without securing at least one of our main targets.

Yes, I'm quite confident in saying the club does not have "signed" deals with Aston Villa and Spurs for Grealish and Kane without anyone from any of the 3 clubs or 2 players camps leaking it to the press.

If I remembered rightly when we missed out on him the stories at the time were that Monaco and Tottenham were likely going to ask for more knowing we were a little bit more I'm urgent need of a fullback due to Alves shafting us.

And then we ended up paying up more for both than what was speculated prior to the Alves collapse. So I presume it fits together.

Grealish I would agree but with Kane, I think Spurs although they don't want to sell, they have to to raise some cash.

He wants us and apparently we want him, so I think that has a good chance to be done.

Grealish will have to force the move if Villa don't want to lose him or he does not have a release clause in that contract.
