Evening News with a complete myth…

View attachment 21600
Hey levets

They really are a disgrace aren’t they. Their editorial standards are at the bottom of the barrel which is no surprise given their plummeting sales performance which has led to endless cost cutting. Remember the pre-digital days when they printed hundreds of job and sales adverts daily and had dedicated old school reporters for local politics and football etc. They are nearing insignificance and cannot possibly survive except with a digital model with spotty school kids banging out the kind of unchecked and in-proofed rubbish you highlighted. They are a joke. Tick bloody tock.

From Feb 21….“The Manchester Evening News saw its print circulation fall by 46% year on year between July and December (2020), recording an average daily circulation of 16,785. That followed a 53% dip in the first six months of 2020.

And equally good news…..“Elsewhere, the Liverpool Echo - another Reach title - saw average print circulation drop 16% to 23,414.”

Sandwich board man behind the Kippax close to the MEN/Football Pink van kept warning ‘the end is nigh.’ Perhaps someone working in the van should have reported this prophecy back to the MEN senior management.

Back in the day it like u say full of just local news job vacancies and unbiased football write ups( although back then it was always rags on back page and us inside). Now it’s got articles from the echo.

No surprise about the inclusion of important information via the Echo as we must all remember that Liverpool is the centre and unofficial capita of not just the NW of England but the universe la.

The Guy outside Maine Road with the placard "Jesus saves" the equivalent of the match day posters on here shout "but Joe Corrigan doesn't".

They are a shambles now. Nothing more than click bait merchants. So many angled City stories designed to draw in the clowns from OT & others. The piece I posted is just a myth originating from one of the rag forums, but this whopper thinks it’s a true fact. We had 4 of his international team mates, but he thought he was signing for United. Only a clown would think this is true.

Kept being bombarded by MEN on my iPhone. Took an expert at Tesco mobile an age to remove it. Said it was buried deep in Google. Got my life back.

Most of the traffic on its website is from overseas (or out of region) United fans. It really is just a clickbait operation. Of course most newspapers have gone down the same route. But decline at the MEN is worse than most of the media industry. It lost touch with its core audience years ago.
It takes some doing to sell just 16,000 papers in one of Europe's fastest-growing conurbations (population at least 3m these days).

The echo, in particular, is a pile of utter shite. They seem to write more articles referencing City than they do Liverpool - headlines like: “Liverpool watch on as Man City transfer shows important Klopp lesson” or some shite. Totally obsessed and trying to create a rivalry.

Good news is, if you get your news through google, you can block sources from appearing. Not looked back since, although I do miss the chuckle I used to have reading their crappy headlines

Yet again not a mention of us on our national news football gossip page. All very boring shit as so often these days. At least they’ve shut up about Haaland to Chelsea though.

How are the mighty fallen. Years ago MEN was respected as a quasi national paper. Brian Redhead was the editor for several years.
