Keir Starmer

I refer you to my last post, mate. I’m genuinely intrigued at where we are as a nation. Only yesterday was I having a conversation with a couple of down to earth, working class lads whose thinking is much aligned to the right of centre.
What is the right of centre?

Churchill was elected in 1951 on fewer votes than Attlee.

FPTP is nonsense aint it.

FPTP is nonsense aint it.

Yes it is.

The UK population in 1951 was 48.91 million

The UK population in 2019 was 66.65 million

Johnson won the 2019 election with a majority of 80 seats with a vote tally of 13,966,454.

Labour lost in 1951 with a vote tally of 13,948,883

There was an 82.6 % voter turnout in 51

In 2019 it was 67.52%

The left if you look at it from the other side.

The other side of what?

Left and right don't exist anymore for the Labour Party under Starmer, capitalism with a human face is what the Blarites say we want, a kind of cheese melt corporate state with fewer rough edges....

Labour pledges same rights for all workers from day one of jobs

https://www.theguardian.com/politic...e-rights-for-all-workers-from-day-one-of-jobs

And the division on the right, is between freedom and control, or so we're led to believe?

So it's not the daft question you're implying.

I wasn't being serious.

Starmer taking control slowly perhaps he has got a plan.
Perpetual Tory rule is his plan.

We're heading toward two US style political party system, where one is a bunch of power hungry, right wing cunts and the other is slightly less right wing but will pontificate they aren't to get the plebs to vote for them.

If Engerland is truly a country of Tory bastards I'll have to consider moving somewhere some fucks are given about the people they govern over what laws their donors want.

You would think the party that comes second most often would try and change the system.

Personally I have no sympathy for anyone who votes for a party without electoral reform as a policy.

Starmer has so much to go at;
Cronyism
The abortion that is Brexit
the shambles that is Covid response
the fractured society we live in

Bloody hell man grow some fucking balls and start making a difference.

Scotland is at peace with a left of centre government, is England so full of Tory c*nts that you cant do the same?

he rinses Boris every week at the dispatch box and pulls him up on all of that. what more can he do ?

its the electorate that blow a lot of hot air but when it comes to voting, they're comfortable with their lives so will vote the same way

As long as we are moving somewhere I for one can live with it, mat. The last election was a choice between two different turds. The country is in a mess. When we had two parties closer together politically we were all a lot happier and less divided and our politicians were a lot more honest and competent. It wasn't perfect but it was a damn sight better than the last five years.

It feels like the B word has opened old wounds.

A bit of unity to get hateful bastards crawling under their rocks would do me.

If Keir took a note out of Bidens book and we got 5 years of progressive, simple policies that benefited the majority of us being overseen by a team of competent ministers I think we'd all appreciate the breather.

He needs to engage with the public far far more. All very well giving Johnson a doing every week at PMQ but so what? Who sees it?
He needs to get out on the street all over England and talk to people about two things:
factually what the Tories have done to this nation.
what Labour would do different.
and he needs to get his bloody party behind him and talking the same language.
Nobody said it would be easy but they need to start tomorrow to have any bloody chance at the next election.

Labour talk about a fair deal for the working man. Tories talk about retirement age being moved back to 75. You would have thought given the number of pensioners their handling of the pandemic have killed, they might ease up a little. Just fix pensionable age at average death age and be done with it.
Fuck sake, wake up England.

An independent Scotland will welcome you.(As long as you pay tax) ;-)

Covid has prevented him doing that mostly,
He still is out and engaging with people - but let’s face it , half of voters are as thick as two short planks and half of Labour voters just obsess over having a ‘real socialist’ in charge so they won’t give Staermer a fair chance.
poison chalice.

I'm edging towards proportional representation, but beware PR lovers! Far too often that system throws up dogs dinner grey sludge coalitions of yes men and place men that nobody voted for.
