Keir Starmer

Covid has prevented him doing that mostly,
He still is out and engaging with people - but let’s face it , half of voters are as thick as two short planks and half of Labour voters just obsess over having a ‘real socialist’ in charge so they won’t give Staermer a fair chance.
poison chalice.
He needs to do more mate COVID or no COVID.

When did you conduct your polling?

The difference between Labour and the Tories: the daft half of the Tories have total control of the party so the sensible half just keep their mouth shut for the greater good, ie power. With Labour the sensible half have control over the party but the daft half won’t support them thereby making power impossible. It’s tragic and depressing loop we are stuck with in this country and is being exploited by some inept and some downright bad people.

Why no mention of the 'sensible' half of the Labour party failing to keep their mouths shut for the greater good under the previous leader?

Exactly. But it’s whataboutery ultimately because it doesn’t change the situation we are in. With a moron doing what he wants.

Of course it doesn't but it's a bit rich calling for unity when the 'sensible' faction seems more focused on attacking the left than this shitshow of a government.

No more and no less sensible than the left attacking the ‘sensible’ faction.

There is only one enemy.

You would think the party that comes second most often would try and change the system.

Personally I have no sympathy for anyone who votes for a party without electoral reform as a policy.
You’ve got to credit the Tories though. You’ve got a system that keeps them almost in perpetual government and they’ve managed to convince their only challengers to that, to keep the very system that ensures they’ll rarely lose.

It’s very simple. Self-preservation, there is no guarantee that Labour would have as much influence in PR, in fact the numbers suggest the opposite.

The Labour party are happy to be the 2nd biggest party if they have occasional win. Labour politicians on the right and probably some on the hard left are happy to be in opposition as long as they get to keep their opportunity for career and network enhancement.

Cobblers.

I miss the old school Labour stuff. I had to study this speech for my English A levels. Was there ever a person more wedded to the use of alliteration than kinnock? Can’t imagine Starmer being this emotional

Alliteration? What alliteration?

The Gesture Generals. The Tendency Tacticians.
Is that it?

A novice compared to JFK:

"we shall pay any price, bear any burden..." "let us go forth to lead the land we love"

Or MLK Jnr

"Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation..."
"This sweltering summer.."
"The marvelous new militancy..."
"I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations."
"...when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles,..."

Or the Alliterator-in-Chief:

“We must choose between greatness or gridlock, results or resistance, vision or vengeance, incredible progress or pointless destruction …”

(Though Trump was lying through his little lips. Literally.)

I did mine from memory (not Google).
