Harry Kane

I keep reading this comment from people who don't want Kane and it really is some confused reasoning. We're not a modelling agency recruiting models. We're recruiting footballers because we're a football club. If you tell me that the guy we're buying will do the job that he's being bought to do, then tell me you still don't want him, it makes me wonder what on earth you're actually talking about ...
You want him along with 52.8% of other voters, 47.2% don’t.
Not sure why it matters so much to the 52.8%.

We are all guilty.

We could sign Kane and he flops just as could Haaland, however good a player looks at another club, there is no guarantee they can settle at another.

It took a couple of seasons for two of our greatest players Kompany and Zabba to look anything like players.
There’s something about chemistry, isn’t there? I’m sure Komps and Zaba wouldn’t have shone so brightly at any other club.

I did post a couple days ago that Tottenham were looking at Vlahovic now this comes out, florentina want 60 to 70 mil that’s what they said at the start of the window. Doubt they’ve changed their stance.

Completely, Zabba comes over to a northern city from half a world away, different culture etc, but he got the club and the City.

Who knows Arry might not like the narth, bit grey and cold, transfers are complex and hence why a lot simply don't work out regardless of how good the player is.

Just look at Madrid and Hazzard, looked a player at Chelsea, in Spain a car crash.

I see @simon23 has dared to interrupt the Kane circle-jerk with a different opinion! He's got a point as any of us who have seen Kane play against city and do fuck all know. Have a look on the spurs 'fighting cock' forum and search what they think of him after big games - even they don't think he's their best option.
Although I don‘t fully agree with him, @simon23 took the trouble to construct a properly reasoned case. True to form, it was instantly trashed and he was poo-pooed for his effort.

:(

Sons always looked more dangerous when we have played Spurs.

It all gets a bit twilight zone in here after so many posts. The only reason I am for this signing is Kane’s ability to find the net regularly. Kane’s age, price, pace, injuries and link up play is not a primary factor for my reasoning. I can understand why posters weigh it up and disagree with the purchase based on the overall package.

This current city team lack goal scorers. If Kane is the only target pep wants then we gotta believe he sees it differently.

And also how teams play. Personally I think striker is one of the hardest positions to fill.

You look at stats and say he scored this many goals or whatever but it’s entirely irrelevant to how they would do elsewhere, you have to play to the strikers strengths to get the most out of them. And if the rest of the team isn’t setup to play that way then it ain’t gonna work out. History is littered with examples of prolific strikers moving and seeming to struggle for goals. I see Kane and think his positioning suits us perfectly, and then add a bit of heading capability in there will just give us an extra dimension. To me he is exactly the striker we need, not a “yeah he’ll do” signing.

Haven’t I read on here that Spurs fans say he goes missing in a lot of games and is a match of the day/YouTube type player?
I had a few rival fans say to me that Adam Johnson (sick ****) was a great player cos they only ever really saw highlights.

Haha! I'm pretty sure every transfer thread we've had over the last 5 years or so have followed a similar path. Simon being unhappy with our potential signings then spending lots of time and effort telling us why only to be told to fuck off by the majority.
It's become part and parcel of the summer window :-)

Kind of agree.
I’m currently in the camp of being underwhelmed by the thought of us signing him, but of course if and when he does sign, then from that second onwards I’ll get 100% behind him, just like any new signing.

Which begs the question, which one would suit us more ?
It's irrelevant as Son has signed a new contract and made it clear how much he loves Spurs and Kane has done an interview where he's basically pleading to be rescued because he wants to win things.

The answer would be Kane anyway. We have Son type players already, we don't have pure unadulterated goalscorers.

Fair enough. In a few weeks he could be scoring winning goals for city. I don’t think most will care what he cost at that point.
