Jack Grealish

Villa fans keep talking about how much more it would mean to win a trophy there for Jack, but they seem not to recognise the very real possibility that he would win literally nothing. His entire career would become a footnote in a history book of Players Who Were Good But Did Nowt. That must be terrifying. He's not a spring chicken. This is his prime, and he only gets one shot at his career- surely he wants to make it count. All the sentiment in the world looks weaksauce when compared to lifting the Premier League trophy.

Just been on the MUen and there's loads of Villa fans saying City are ruining football and that we are just a small club with shit support.... Fuck me they are one deluded fan base.

It really isn’t long ago since that FA Cup tie at Villa Park when Kelechi scored a hat trick and there was one blue for every four Villa fans in the place

Professional footballers follow the cash and do what is right for their career. There are odd exceptions who make fanciful romantic decisions (Shearer comes to mind) but not many. Very few clubs have ‘fans’ playing for them - they secure the best services they can afford in order to achieve success, whatever that may look like for their respective team. I don’t know anything about JG but I would expect him to make his decisions based on logic and advice. Your post is that of a fan - do not confuse players and fans. David Silva was the best we ever had (arguably). He was a City player, not a fan.
Correct, what people forget about shearer is he followed the dough (+ transfer record) to Blackburn who were loaded at that time. Then he he was a world transfer record to Newcastle who were challenging for the title and getting to cup finals albeit they never got over the line. By the time Newcastle were declining he was 30 and plagued by injuries and united had moved on to the likes of van nistelrooy. Yes he gave great loyalty to Newcastle but it's not as simplistic as remembered

So; has he signed yet?
