No, I wouldn’t bet on it myself either, but still feel it is of some interest.
It’s definitely interesting because football and gambling are now so intertwined and interdependent that we’re at risk of losing the last vestiges of ethics in our sport to these massive powerful, influential and secretive organisations.
It seems perverse to me because gambling sponsorship, and even part and sometimes controlling ownership of football clubs, is not only allowed but encouraged. And this is despite the very blatant conflict of interest in terms of fixed or affected outcomes and the daily misery it brings to supporters of the game and their poor families.
