I think this started in the time after last Summer when Bernardo asked to leave. We will have told Bernardo “no”, then looked around for a replacement and found Grealish to be interested.

Then with his comments after we played them at the Etihad last season I thought “he wants to play for us!”. While the entire media, the Villa fanbase, the Villa players and manager were all crying about our goal, Grealish came out after the game and spoke about how great a side we are and what playing with de Bruyne would be like.
 
Villa fans rejoicing from signing Bailey like its a sign of intent from Villa to convince Grealish to stay.

I'm just patiently waiting for the penny to drop when they realise where he plays...
 
Villa fans are begging on Twitter showing old photos and saying think of the atmosphere, to stay. then there is the other half calling him a snake and a money grabber

I don't think that's true.. there's been games where Phil has played in the middle of the park and been the best player on the pitch. Granted thats been mostly vs lower opposition teams but he's certainly showed he's capable.

I genuinely though exactly that in the summer when him and Foden looked to be best buddies. It was like they knew they would be team mates in the future and just suggested to me it was a done deal.

Another more tragic guy on reddit (a so called itk) keeping a hard stance he is staying at Villa. If it were us with all that is happening with reports from, basically, club mouthpieces i'd just be waiting for the innevitable really. A great many of the Villa are in genuine denial about this. I think their reddit itk is actually a kfa.

I don't have to be a weatherman to know its pissing it down, likewise i don't need to be itk to know this is obviously pretty much done.

Looks like putting 2 and 2 together to make sense of it from their pov.

Barnett is Jack's agent, Barnett is also Ward-Prowse agent, I'll leave it at that as to why he was suddenly an option.

There isn't any deadline set, a team that nearly got relegated right after promotion and finished 11th following season will be challenging for absolutely fuck all, Jack knows this, his agent knows this too. Doesn't matter who they sign.
