They absolutely would care. If someone comes in on £500k or £600k a week they'd be pissed off.
Absolutely agree and you only have to go back to when Sanchez arrived to see Pogba spit his dummy out on him being on more money. Player disharmony caused largely by greed is something we can do without at the club, and a big reason I've never wanted Messi here.

We'd be signing Messi for the sake of signing Messi. There are no long-term benefits to having him here for 2 years, any fans and increased revenue he brings with him will only fuck off with him when he leaves.
He doesn't want to go somewhere to challenge himself or because he actually wants to go there, he will simply go to who will pay him the most.
Apart from the benefit of having the best player in the world playing for you I agree, no benefits whatsoever.
Nobody would expect it to be long term, it is what it is.
I fully expect him to go to PSG and don't blame him whatsoever. He's nothing to prove to anyone, especially not the internet not rights who seem to have taken him not signing for City very personally and behave like spurned lovers.

He could play for Barca for free if it really mattered.

This is also another laughable argument. He should take an even bigger pay cut if he wanted to stay so much.

No the best pay in the world should not accept 25k or whatever because he wanted to stay. The real world does not work like that. He already accepted half his wage which is more than 99% of other players would do.

Never thought his Dad was on Bluemoon.

I didn't say there weren't short-term benefits?? Classic bluemoon.

no he doesnt and i had noticed sergio was gone ,that was not my point ,jog on
Well I can think of 3 very good reasons straight off the top of my head, if we decided to throw out hat in the ring, doubt we will though.

Honestly can't get my head around how PSG can finance the Messi deal. Before all the free transfers this window their wage bill was 414m EUR. A lot of creative accountancy needed.

Apparently they budgeted to lose 300m with 180m sales so who they selling and who in this climate are going to pay for them

He has got 10 because of the whole marketing thing I think. Jack even said that he was surprised with the shirt number.
Correct if you watch his video going into the dressing room his shirt is hung up don't think he thought he was getting the 10 shirt

I did say there would be plenty of twists and turns to come. I honestly believe the French media jumped the gun and instantly thought he agreed to a deal because he's been linked with PSG in the past. Not sure how they expected a heartbroken Messi to go from nearly agreeing on a deal with his beloved club to instantly agreeing on a deal with PSG 24 hours later. He needs time to think and listen to all the offers. I don't even believe that 40m after-tax offer from PSG. There is no way they could afford it in regards to the FFP.

He may still go to PSG, but I believe they have to sell first before they can make it happen.

The FFP element makes it a serious challenge for them definitely

I can't rule the scum out in this.
Probably the only English club who the press wouldn't scrutinize every aspect of the deal should they pull it off
I think they've been trying to put the finance in place for some time - since they announced they were open to offers for Phil Jones in fact.
