What's the story with the delta variant being transmissible between vaccinated and unvaccinated alike? Is this a game changer regarding vaccines? Also, this new variant from Columbia is apparently suspected to be able to evade the current crop of vaccines, although this has not been confirmed. Have to say, I'm so f**king over this.

Have a read of this for a bit of perspective about variants. They really have turned into the bogeyman thanks to their use in goverment messaging.

One of th AZ creators has also said the same thing, that the chances of a variant occuring that rendered the vaccines impotent is not realistic as it would require a mutation so drastic as to make the virus itself inactive.

SCOTLAND DATA

STILL EDGING UP BUT ONLY SLIGHTLY

0 deaths - was 3 last week

1240 cases - was 1034 last week

6.0% positivity - was 5.4% last week - which shows it IS rising not just data fluctuations

360 patients - up 1 on yesterday - was 422 last week

40 ventilated icu - down 2 on yesterday - was 62 last week

AS IN ENGLAND THE VENTILATED CASES ARE STARTING TO DECLINE VERY POSITIVELY

The press are as bad at scare mongering as the fucking anti vaxxer idiots.

NORTHERN IRELAND DATA

1 death - was 5 deaths last week

1129 cases - was 1072 last week

ONLY INCHING UP AS EVERYWHERE THERE IS A PLATEAU LIKE FEEL TO WHAT WE ARE SEEING

Posted yesterday that if you looked closely enough Zoe was maybe showing signs of the increase in Glasgow City area slowing. Think today that's even more evident. Next few days important to see where it goes from here, a decline would be most welcome.Screenshot_20210808-141825_COVID Symptom Study.jpg

So the total deaths with England to come are 4 this week.

Last week it was 13 - quite a large drop. It became 65 later when England added 52 - 31 outside of hospital. 21 in hospital.

As I posted earlier with the regional Zoe data Scotland as a nation is edging up but still far behind everywhere else in the UK on the Zoe table. Well below even the NW.

But yes we need to watch where this is tracking.
