Harry Kane

Jesus Christ ive read it all now Messi and Ronaldo are over hyped living on past glories, top scorers in their respective leagues last season, 1 top scorer in the euros (at 36) and the other one top scorer and player of the tournament in the Copa America.

Anyway back to the thread, Kane will sign for us next week, he'll come off the bench on Sunday and try his best to score against us and thats exactly what id want to see from a professional footballer.

Is he not training alone due to isolation rules? If so, he could just be training indoors whole the rest of the players are outside
Yeah he was training solo, is meant to join regular training with the squad today though. We'll have some news on that I'm sure. Can't see him being part of the squad.

I wonder if Kane is match fit at all

Knowing our luck, he comes off the bench, scores the winner, and then gets a season ending injury!

We let Messi go because he is currently massively over-rated. All that matters when a player is 34 is his last season. Good yes. But not worth the money. Ronaldo and Messi are all hype based on great pasts.

While i cannot agree with any of that, i would say that they won't be the same players in the coming two years.

The trouble withy stats is they don't show the whole picture. Watching people play can show a whole different performance. That weasel thing at the rags scores loads of goals according to stats. But the truth is he goes missing in big games and gets loads of penalties to pad his stats etc.

Age gets to us all, and no matter how good they are/were, they have both peaked and will only slow down/decline going forwards.

Calling Messi overrated is ridiculous, but some of the things in this graphic aren’t very good points. Saying he “ended Brazil’s streaks” etc is funny for some of us Brazilians, as our own national team didn’t take it very seriously, with reportedly most players pushing to not participate in it just days before the competition so they could have longer vacations, and this particular edition was supposed to take place in Argentina and Colombia with two goals 1) adequate the Copa America calendar with the Euros (the “real” Copa America happened in 2019, which Brazil won) 2) it was always meant to be the one to give Messi his Argentina title. A lot of Brazilians who are his fans were rooting for Argentina, believe it or not. But above all, it wasn’t him who won the title, it was the team; Messi himself went missing in the final (unlike Neymar, it should be said), whether nerves or not, who knows, but it was nowhere near a good performance.

It would have been quicker to just write "I don't watch European football".
